Default Jet stand or support???

I see some pictures with jets being supported by a stand that is folded up after use. Just made of pipe, with foam on the top parts. Nothing special. Where is the source for these stands?

I know midwest has one similar, but it has a craddle on the top side which is not what I am looking for.

Thanks

Those are sold by stores that sell auto bodyshop supplies. They usually call them door stands. Harbor Freight also sells them.

I got the Midwest stand because it fits my R-54 perfectly and it gets the plane up in the air so I can comfortably work on it. Then comes my F-22 and the stand will not accomodate it. I made cross bars that bridge the cradle uprights. The cross bars are PVC plumbing tube with pipe insulation slipped over the tube. I used 4 plastic cups (could use PVC caps also), secured to the cross bars with screws into the PVC and spaced to fit over the cradle uprights. Works like a charm and it's fully collapsable. The bars come off for the R-54 and go back on to hold the F-22.

The Harbour Freight stand supports up to 200lbs and is sold for $19.95 to $25.00. Works great for the jets and the heavy warbirds.[8D]

I use a keyboard stand that has 5 diff height settings. Put some foam from the local aircon shop on one side and done! All for under $50.

You can typically get the auto body part stands for around $25-35 from your local auto body paint supply store. I believe i paid $30 for mine and it was there the next day, which ended up being $10 cheaper (by not having to pay shipping and 3 days faster than ordering from harbor freight.
