Default Steering Servos

In the past, I have used JR Z650 and 8411 servos for steering with good results, but now that these servos are getting more difficult to get (at least for me that I live outside the US) I would like to know what kind of servos are you using. I need to assemble now a Skymaster Viper Jet and a Global Jet Club CT-114 and need to decide on the steering servos.

I'm using Futaba 9157 in most of my planes for all surfaces so a Futaba servo recommendation would be great.

I like the Airtronics (Sanwa) 94162 MG/BB. It's analog @ 130 oz/in.

The hitec 645mg is a good HD analog metal gear servo. I have used these for flaps too.

All my jets use a JR 579. Metal geared and non digital. I'm sure you can get them shipped, but you could 8411 too.

Hitec Hs-85MG

Small package but more punch than a standard servo. Like others have stated, It's only nose gear steering.

Thanks

whatever you use, make sure it centers well. I recently installed a Hitec 5625 \which I used on a throttle of a gasser and it wouldn't center worth a hoot. I threw it out and put a spare 5955 in. It centers now for sure. it would probably break the wire if the gear got bound... but its what I had. I used a hitec 985MG before and it worked good, as well as the already installed JR 579 on my new Kingcat and Rookie(RIP)

What I would like to know is why digital versus analog, and what preferences are out there if you are running a gyro.. also include the rudder servo. I was just curious why BV recommends them that way too.

I assume to smooothe the sensitivity of the gyro out put..

I use JR or sometimes Hi-Tec servos with decent torque. With gyro applications I use a good high speed servo to answer the gyro instantly. Metal gear is a plus for sure for all your off-runway needs !!!

Why not the JR Sport MG126? Looks like similar specs to the Z650.
