Ron,
I think mid 30's should be no problem. The last big hornet i built came in at 54.8lbs with 200oz of jet-A on board and twin turbines. And it was the older polyester glass fuselage and had some classic giant scale servo's (ya know, the big 1/4 scale ones that weight about a pound each) for the stabs. 35-36lbs should be no problem at all IMO, even if you were to paint it.

That's good to hear, but take into account that each fan is 3.2 pounds so there's 6.4. The packs are 5 pounds for each fan so there is 10 pounds in fuel.

So it will be pushing 17 pounds for the power system.. I have heard of some old ducted fans coming out at 28 pounds dry. So If I can match that weight with weight savings then add 10 pounds in packs..
I could be 38 pounds loaded... that would be pretty darn good. Anything under that is gravy. I have heard of turbine verison being as high as 42 pounds dry! and over 50 loaded...
So it should work out just fine... it has to be better than glow by a long shot

I talked with Bob Fiorenze about the project a few months back which was a real treat and he thought it would just be great on todays power... he flew it around 32 pounds with 9 pounds thrust per fan!
Even at that he said it flew great and could loop from level flight and had pretty good vertical.

i have the ''talent'' to make molds and kits for myself ,if i want to.if the manufacture has a problem with this, they will contact me..you keep buying ''non usa'', products and pat yourself on the back for having a kit you did,, not even paint!!taking credit for how kool it looks and how good it flys.. if ther is any mooching ,its from guys like you. ''top gun'' event is adressing this mooching right now..takig credit for others talent is the mooching..lieing,[X(]

I think your full of it.... I challenge you to show pics of your copied molds of anything! I don't believe you and im betting you can't back up your words. I know this model well and it would be no easy feat to reproduce it in all its glory... Prove me wrong!! I bet ya don't... I am by no means encouraging this practice but Id like to see this guy put his money where his mouth is.... Lets see what ya got other than a bunch of capped words....

Again with the ALL CAPS. What is your deal? Maybe you need a new keyboard?
I don't get it, as you've been asked time and time again.

you still didn't win his challenge.

he said "copied" molds and to reproduce the yellow F18 twin in all its glory... I've seen neither, and dont think it could be done. But the Car molds are interesting...

Anyone who proudly touts copying proprietary products deserves no respect whatsoever. In fact, the only thing they deserve is a law suit.

"i used as a plug, made the molds and sold many bodys"

This is deplorable. If you made your own plugs and changed things by 15-20%, like adding a hood scoop or sculpting new lines, then I'd have respect.
A straight "splash" is not only wrong but illegal if you are profiting from the sale of those moldings.

You're a joke. You can't spell or punctuate correctly, yet think you are so smart.
You don't even know me so how could you say I am speaking about things I know nothing about?
For you to assume that I have no skills is ludicrous.
Post when you learn how to properly display the English language. I'd suggest you show a little less attitude, as every single one of your posts is combative.
That is why you are being met with such negativity.
The fact that you use all caps when you know that it is annoying just emphasizes your need to be controversial.
You're not making the proper IMPACK (if that's even a word)
And being sorry to those who don't like to read all caps...that would be absolutely everyone.
Get a clue up in here.

Hey Rapptor, you are saying that he cant do it but maybe you should do your research.... He is BUILDING (FROM WOOD) a plug for a 1/7th scale F-14 and will be molding the whole jet.....At least he has originality in his build...

Also, you might want to make sure your mom signs you up for Grammar classes next semester.....[sm=punching.gif]
