Thanks R. Plane coming along. Doors were a bummer to get right. Notice the inverted V music wire. Simple affair that opens and closes doors. Does away with air cylinders. And if anyone is interested have a set of Jack Lynn Bale U2 Spyplane plans. Also buddy of mine in Covina has an original only copy of Jack Lynn Bale Ho-229 plans. Got them from Jack for he died. Make copies of them and send for the price it will cost to copy and ship. Won't make any money just would maybe for someone to build. Nice plans especially the U2 plans. 100" plus wingspan. Saw a guys plane in north Dallas. Nice scratch built TR-1. Just something different.

Have to say disclaimer as per RCU rules. I am not associated or affiliated with parties contained thereof. Not bad for a layman huh? Anyway you looking for bizarre jet? Horten Ho-229? Blohm und Voss? Dornier Do-335? Go to wingsontheweb.com $500.00 or under gets you into weird club of the month edition. Man show up at flying field with an Ho-229 and guys in white coats will take you away in your personal like hey wait a minute, thought this custom suit arms went to the front kind of thing. Roger Rabbitt eat your heart out. Ppppppleeeeease

henschel,
Nice build on the 105, can't wait to hear how it flies!

It was probably my TR-1 you saw in Dallas. I flew it on ducted fan power and a buddy dropped a turbine in it and now it
has a new home up north. I hope we see more of those planes as they are incredibly easy to fly.

Paul

That looks like Butches B-58 Hustler from Mansfield. That is one awesome plane. TR-1 is awesome. Like those scratch builds. My next plane I think will be a JD Enterprises Mig-25.

This week will be picking up pace on build. Next week is try to stay up week. Post many pics of build. This coming week will show rear fuse build. Stabs, fin, bearing blocks and main wing spars. Then front nose gets to know the rear fuse. I will detail pics and easy way to put fin and stabs in perfect alignment. Easy easy easy. After I show y'all how to build this kit you will want one. Instructions are in text but now you will have detailed pics to help in the build. Makes it much easier when you have pics to refer to. Love the smell of kerosene in the morning

Hans Rudel was pissed of today as well as me. Sold my beloved Maratuka/Royal Ju-87B-2 Stuka today to fund F-105F. Hmmm Stuka or F-105? Hell with it kick the tires and light the fires.

Here a a pic of the fin and RHAW Radar Homing and warning antennas. Made the antennas from laminated .020 G10 sheets. Zapped them together and sanded shapes. Got tired of looking at the fin, looked too naked.

Here are some pics of the Avionics vents. I drilled and filed them through the fuse. These are molded in but wanted to have that real Thud look. Other pic is the backing plate I made out of sheet .010 Poly Ply by BVM. Taped sheet of poly ply to fuse, then zapped .020 x 1/8th" strips of G10 to the poly ply. When done backing plate is exact shape of fuse.

Update if anyone watching thread. Made a plug out of soft balsa for 20mm gun. Pics follow soon. Awesome. Came out perfect. Save you money. Buddy that does molds and plugs turned me on to it. Went to auto parts bought Kit carwax. Carnuba has to be Carnuba. Put 2 coats of Z poxy finishing resin on plug first. Put 6 coats of Kit carwax on plug. Then layed up 4 layers of 1.5 oz cloth and Z poxy resin on mold/plug. Finish product you have perfect piece that you made. Works perfect. No more do you have to spend big bucks on mold release. Will put pics later. Just thought would pass this on to fellow modelers. Trial and error works.

Mold and finish product. Perfect. If my hungover booty eyes sees. Easy, simple cheap. Kind of sounds like me and women I have known. Other then that, save you money plus your ole lady won't walk on you. Simple cheap easy to make. Tell the ole lady you heard it on RCU. Save soooooooo much money you can buy her a thong. We call it butt floss in Dallas but hey don't blame me if she don't like. Maybe she will. Hope the info helps. Hangover but least I got something that came out right this morning. Did you? Thong not included.

Maybe someday we can do some formation flying, if I ever fly mine. My empty weight is 19 pounds! Might be able to get it down a bit with lipoly batts for the ECU and radio.

Keep up the pics!

Pics coming tomorrow on the progress of Thud. Cut out gun port today. Installing gun port inside cover tomorrow. Thud think will come in between 13-14lbs. Using mostly composite materials. Reason is also airstart Ram. Ram 750 turbine weighs 2.4lbs. Only other weight for airstart is battery pack for fuel pump,2 festo fittings for air, propane and thats it. So huge weight saving over full auto start. Yeah small scuba tank is hassle but don't want Thud having high wing loading like Thuds is Nam. Don't want to have to take off fully loaded using 9,000ft runway. As we say in Texas "That dog don't hunt"

Corey sounds a bit heavy but only way to tell is fly it. With enough thrust it should do ok. Just got my replacement rear fuse from Bruce Sanders today. Old fuse did not have crisp panel line so Bruce made a new mold. This new fuse is awesome. Really nice work. Thanks Bruce. REAL customer service at Century Jet Models. Guys got to tell you, go with American kit manufacturers and build it your self and you won't have problems like the big row at SkyMaster. Now it's time to really finish of the Thud.

This massive plane. Pics just don't show it. Mated front to rear and BIG to say the least. The F-105 was massive as it stands back in the day but 1/10th scale. Hope you got a big SUV to cart it to the flying field. Guys you got to get you one of these. Everyone at flying field will be blown away when you woop out a serious can of big jet woop booty.

U2fast you know everything in Texas is big. Will that plane fit in a VW? Well Corey F-105 is big enough for me. Plane will barely fit in my Land Rover. Falcon glad to hear from all the good people in Texas. Lots of good craftsmen in Texas. Butch in Mansfield for one. Going to put as much work into Thud as I can before I return to Dallas. Little rusty on the sticks so will have to wait for awhile but would like to show y'all the plane and you can see how easy to build and quality work from Century Jet. 105 will be awesome with the old RAM 750. Hope I get better then 1:1 thrust to weight ratio.
