Yes Peter, spent about 12 years maintaining the Viper. Both in the Air Force and with the US Government for the Air Force Test Pilot School. Worked just about all variants of the Viper in my time. Block 10's, 15's, 25's, 30's, 32's, 42's, and 50's. Both single seat and staion wagons! The best multirole bird out there!!!

The one on top is white strobe, the rest is now led. Perhaps this video helps you further.

The lights, as it's been said can be set to pulse or steady. Most squadron standards say strobe flashing as well as position set to flash when moving (taxiing/flying) and steady with the strobe off when stopped. It prevents disorientation for the guys crawling around under the jet arming/dearming it
The us didnt buy the LEDs. That's especially frustrating when you have to shut down to change an intake light.
Rules say you need both intake lights and either an upper or lower wing light
If you need I can get detailed photos next week, I'm traveling right now

Peter,
Yup, that's the strobe! There are some white lights on either side of the tail on the fuse...we call them pan am lights. Additionally, the pitot tube looking thing on ther vertical is not a pitot tube (most folks mess that up to include Bvm on the plans I have), it's actually a light to shine down on the spine for night refueling and that's on a rheostat

Still busy with the PA's, also cut out the fuel panels to get a better scale view. Brought also a few panels back to the original state before the PA update. There are stil B's who don't have them (yet).

Little update on the fuselage, new fuel panels on the other side also, some minor details to go and the upperside is finally ready .
The alu will be sanded again for removing scratches.
Also cut out pieces for this grate.
