Tnx Ray for posting! It is a very exitening experience to fly this model, a delighful piece of machine! I fly the Avonds F16 for many years now which is easy to fly but this one is even more relaxed and very scale to fly. Lot of work went in it till now and still lot's of work left after these first flights.

Full working speedbrakes, flaps and leading edge flaps. Landing gear is own design and very lightweight made, took me 6 months to make, see movie below.

Marijn from Scale-jets, living close to me, talked me through the first flights but proved unnessesary due to the good flying characteristics, tnx Marijn!

Best regards,
Gerald

Tnx Hans, no, that was near Arnhem...you know! Gilze-Rijen is just too tight for models like these.

That's correct. New procedure when wind from the north where glider activities hold our normal main crossing position. Not very often but indeed not the best....it seems we modellers alway's take the shortest straw.....you know ha ha ha!

Well for sure its got the realistic look on the first flight, I can imagine what it'll be like after 50 flights.
Tell you what, the Klu should get rid of their full size and have you do the airshows for the same money...Haha

Beautiful flying, and machine, Gerald.

but what I find most impressive is the work you did in fabricating the whole, model, engine, under cart,etc.....a real craftsman and grass roots engineer!!
You are inspirational........Awsome!!!!

Nice!!!

I love the way that the gear go "Click" when they lock down. Very positive locking mechanism. Sweet work. Are you going to be in the JWM in Dayton this year?

Hi Guys, model nearly complete for WM, lot of work went into it last year. Model has logged now 35 flights and still practising on daily basis.

Last week some nice get-together with the full size, here a link from the original demoteam site, very nice! [8D]

As some college modellers always say, a scale-model is never finnished until you stop working on it ha ha ha.....

Still working on some minor details:

Wheel well inetrior:

Still some work on hydraulic lines, details and weathering etc.

Pitot tube and airdata probe

Cocpit nearly finnished:

Nosegear light":

....and we contineu.....

Best regards,
Gerald

Gerald, Not to criticize but the DB25 connector on the dash is about 2% too big, it really does not look good
Hope you goldplated the pins otherwise its not milspec!

Great work! A fabulous model, truly lots of effort leading to a superb result! I met the Demo Team in Turku Airshow recently- nice guys whose little Looky the Lion also met my MiG-21 bis...

Hi Moerig; well.....thats all about compromise isn't it?

@TP; Very nice picture with the mig! The mechanics just arrived with their bus from Turku when the shoot was made. Initially the shoot was set a day sooner but the team couldn't make it.

@i3dm; well.....I must admid it was the sécond flight from maiden that day, the first movie was destroyed...... But I have lot of flying time on the Avonds F16 and they have similar flying characteristics other than that this larger one flies more stable and better low speed performance. Realy a joy to fly this model and I got relaxed with the bird pretty soon!

Best regards,
Gerald
