Fireblades,
Sorry for not seeing thathe was using a K-100. Looking at the pictures ofhis planewas like watching a porno, do you really listen to the dialog or in this case read anythinghe wrote along withhis pictures??? NOPE,That plane is like a sexy porn star!! |
RE: The new Tornado sport jet
You guys are funny! To be fair, I went back and edited the original post to add the K100 comment after the question was asked...wasn't there originally! Glad everyone likes the scheme. My son Scott redid the booms. They are metallic black and look really nice.

RE: The new Tornado sport jet
Hearing Norray had sadly passed away I have decided to have some after market canopies made up to compliment our swept back mounts. These are really nice and turned out really well so if any one would like one just get in touch.

RE: The new Tornado sport jet
Not a problem, actually these fit the new version better than the old V3,gets very confusing!!, which for some reason was alot wider in the middle. Better deal as a combo with the Turbine mount too ORIGINAL: Gixxy ORIGINAL: ModellbauUK ORIGINAL: 737Driver Henry I want a canopy! Any pictures of the canopy? Ian
|
RE: The new Tornado sport jet
Shipping to the USA from UK/Ireland is easy and cheap in comparison from USA to UK/Ireland dont know why US international post is so expensive

RE: The new Tornado sport jet
Broke out the Tornado for the first time this year and put another 5 flights on her so i am up to 41 now. i mixed in a lot of slow flight and was getting 7 1/2 minutes before dropping the gear for landing. She really does fly nice and is so relaxing to fly. Worth every penny. :)

RE: The new Tornado sport jet
So we had the maiden flight today and this is what we encountered. If you are using a KingTech K-100G, you better REALLY make sure you have the monokote ironed and reironed tight!!! It looked like I was pulling a flag around or shooting confetti out whileflying. So I set up the CG as the manuel said 12 3/4" and during the Maidenit was nose heavy, It dives when invertedand came in for landing wayto fast. If you look at my pics on page129 you can see the big 9.9 LIFEbattery on the tray. I moved it all the way back to the belly compartment and made a world of difference. When I have a few minutes I will check where it actually ended up and post my CG. We put about 15 flights on itafter the maiden and moving the battery. I had the timer set for 5 minutes and after hauling the mail and shredding monokote there wasenough fuel left for maybe 1 or 2 go arounds and have a little reserve. You also want to take Henry's advice in the earlier posts and tape the leading edgeson the wings or you will really have issues with the monokote ripping off. The video is taken from a camera phone so it is not the best quality, it was hard to follow the plane looking at the screen with the sun glare, but watch it to the end and check out the landing. There was probably a 8-12 mph cross wind.

RE: The new Tornado sport jet
I thought the video was pretty well done. In curious where are you're flight pack(s) and what size are you using. Also have you thought about moving your fuel tank further back ? Looks like its at least a few inches further forward then ours. Still that shouldn't make any difference especially when it comes to landing since the tank is nearly empty. Excellent landing btw. Really shows just how much people can slow these birds down :) I'd really like to hear where the plane is balancing out for you now. Thanks for posting up your results and video.

RE: The new Tornado sport jet
The fuel tank is the 74oztankand is back as far as it will go without opening up the bulkheads. I have 2- 6V 2200mah NM packs, 1 on eachside of the fuel cell.
