I'm ready. Got a Snaker racer in the prime and needing a little color...right now! Especially if heat isn't an issue since it's friggin cold down here. [8D]

Any tips you have are always welcomed Jeremy.

Yes.
What is the procedure for adding decals and panel lines to an aircraft that is already cleared? Such as a BVM Bandit ARF.
Thx
Len

I'd be dead keen to larn about these new paints. I'm busy dressing up a Warbird and am studying paints and painting techniques over oracover and monocotes. A tutorial and information and painting all types of covering would help me greatly

Thanks

Hey Jeremy, I need to find a tail pipe and a bypass for the raptor, help me find one and we can do a little flying together. I know from past experience that there is another 50 mph in the raptor, i cant remember who was flying it (wink) but i did see it with my own eyes, things are happening real fast at those speeds. let me know if you find a pipe.

Jeremy, I used latex paints once with not so great results. Any help will be appreciated. Dan.

Hi Dan,
The use of latex paints (house paint) is not something I will cover. The new automotive water borne paints are a latex however. BUT, they are designed for spraying, for adhesion to prepped metals, fiberglass etc. They are unfortunately very expensive, but they seem to work nice. I still don't like them as much as my old solvent based stuff, but when the gov't says you have to change, well, I guess we have to change, mind you, if I could still buy the old stuff locally I'd keep using it haha.

I will do another thread as soon as I have a jet ready to shoot, shouldn't be too long, it will either be a JL T45 Hawk or my CAI Raptor.

Karl,
I don't know anyone with a pipe outside of having Tam make one. As you know though, the Raptor pipes are old school thinking, they taper down to a small outlet, not sure if Tam would make a pipe like that, the old Raptor pipe is heavy as heck too! I'll do some searching though, I know of a few Raptors out there.

Hi
In Norway we had to switch to waterbased paints a few years back. We thought the same: That the solvent based paint was way much better. We installed extra fans in the paint booth to help the drying process, and now we dont even remember the solvent based paint!
Here`s a picture of my KingCat painted with the Glasurit 90 series water base. Nothing wrong with the water based product!

That's OK jeremy, I can still get oil based paints in the Los Angeles area but in quart size only. That all right for my gas powered models. I'm not to sure how long they will be around. I do get stares when I order something like 15 quarts to paint around my house. Any new technique with water based is fine with me. Dan.
