I guess by logic the P-100 should fall somewhere between the P-80 @ 22 lbs and the P-120 @ 28.5 lbs.

Kenrico, since you just started flying turbines I doubt you remember, but the P-80 was a 17lb thrust turbine at one time. Jetcat made improvements and the P80 went to 18lbs, then 19lbs, and up to 22lbs where it is at now. The great thing is that the P-80 has remained just as reliable as it has always been even though the power has increased by five pounds over the years.

I would imagine the P-60 will be around for a long time because of the segment of the market it fits. I have owned several P-60's over the years and they little jewels. One of my favorite turbines.
Gary, i went over n read you post again, now i have another question. if you say or assume by logic the p100 would drop in between 22 and 28lbs, and the p70 is being discontinued what is going to fill in 17lbs gap?? If it is true that the p70 is going to be discontinued, and the p100 is the same size as the p70 like Henry said, would you guys agree with me that the p100 would be somewhat a 2 in 1 Turbine? what i mean by 2 in 1 is that we would have say a 25lbs turbine the same size as a 17lbs turbine, in other words we would have a turbine that can be put in a bigger jet for its thrust but can also be used in smaller trainer jets because of its small size and being able to limit it down to 17lbs.
hope i explained myself clear enough for you guys[sm=confused.gif]

A dialed down p-100 [sm=bananahead.gif] jajajajajajaja !!

Wilcox is da man, but I hope they have one at FJ 2011 that they can stick on Carlos's calibrated stand, and send one to Olivier Nicolas to test and publish results in RCJI performance comparison chart, where the only JC that hits the advertised thrust nuts on is the P-200SX at 52lbs.

RE: P70SE or P100

Will the P-100 require different on-board equipment? I have a model with a P-70 which would greatly benefit from a P-100. It would be very nice if I could simply swap turbines and perhaps adjust some programmable parameters. Is this a possibility or a turbine newbee fantasy?

Thx

I dont think they have decided on the electronics package at this time. There was talk of it coming with a pump like the P20 (electronics, valves in the pump, magnetically coupled, no seal) and the small ECU. Thrust is going to be around 24-25 pounds but they had some issues so who knows what the final will be. Scotty

The last info we got from Bob was 29lb was "the goal", but hasn't been achieved. Also even though it is smaller then the P 70, it will be heavier.

I wonder if they are picking up a few extra pounds by spinning it faster, getting up on the steep portion of the Power vs RPM curve, possibly with a new machined compressor. My Wren SS hits 160 K, with a sharp increase in power from about 130K upwards to max RPM.
