Can't understand why it's so intact....surely we should be looking at nothing more than a charred pile of ash?

Iran claims they took control of the aircraft and landed it safely.

Certainly looks very intact, I would think there is a very strict information block on anything related to this as its so embarrassingly sensitive.

From what I see in that video, there are significant differences in what they "displayed" vs. the available pictures of the RQ-170 - the shape is different in several areas, the control surfaces look different, and the one they displayed looks suspiciously clean. Also, the fact that they have the landing gear covered up is suspicious - it looks like a fake to me...

If it was spektrum it would look like this yellow F16........................................

In the other pic is how after 2 weeks of looking for the plane after it flew away I used an old trainer with a video cam installed to find it.

Well I guess they won't be worried about losing the airframe as it is clearly closely based on the Horten designs of 67 years ago. I am amazed though they didnt have an auto- destruct system to avoid the embarrassment of asking 'please mister can I have my toy back'.

100% FAKE!!!!
U didn't read the article then;)

A senior U.S. official has confirmed to Fox News that images aired by Iranian state television do in fact show the secret U.S. drone that went down last week in eastern Iran.

"Yep, that's it," the official told Fox News. "And it's intact."

U.S. officials had been expecting the video to appear. The footage, which shows the aircraft intact, confirms the Iranians have custody of the drone but appears to refute Iranian claims that it shot down the RQ-170 drone.

Who's to say this wasn't a "planned" act to get the Iranians or who ever to steal the technology, which could be bogus. Kind of a Trojan horse operation?..... Just a thought..

Senior US official?

RE: mmm nice

First it was shot down.  Then it was lost in Afghanistan, not Iran.  Now it was taken over and landed.  No markings.  Plain sand color.  Straight verticle, radar reflecting intake grill.  Easy pull up spoilers.  Wheels up.  Clean and undamaged.

Yep, real alright.  Who knows how many more they have taken over and landed since our control technology is so poor we can even keep it from being intercepted half way around the world?</p>

RE: mmm nice

Please, please, please forgive the intrusion into a possible political discussion but this statement was also in the Fox News article: "With early knowledge that the aircraft had likely remained intact, the senior U.S. official also told Fox News that President Obama was presented with three separate options for retrieving or destroying the drone. The president ultimately decided not to proceed with any of the plans because it could have been seen as an act of war, the official told Fox News."

I present this as food for thought, not as a request for a political discussion.  I don't know of any situation where the US lost an intelligence carrying platform and did not summarilly bomb the crap out of it.  Yes they sometimes don't get it all but to leave something like this intact?  No way.
