F-18F multi angle video

This video has been made with 3 GoPro HD.
My old trusted F-18F is able to take the 3 cameras at the same time.
It is quite interesteing to see the airframe in flight from the wing tips. For example, one can clearly see that the gyro gain was too high on the ailerons, giving this "flutter like" effect.

Let me know if you like the editing style or not.

Merry Christmas!!!

Very nice Oli,

The GoPro camera has very vivid colours. And the desert scenery is fantastic.

Can you please post some pics how you fixed the cameras on the wings and the belly of the aircraft.

And is the B300F so quiet as in the video? It sounds very quiet. Is it like this in reality?

The added weight creates a higher angle of attack on takeoff and blocks the rear gear doors closed. Thus the main cannot retract in the wheel well.
I have changed the cinematics of these dorrs and now all is back to normal.

I did a test on this flight with high aileron gyro gain. Not good....

No it's not. This is a mighty engine that displaces a lot of air. It makes quite an impressive sound.
The noise reduction system kind of erases most of the engine sound in the air.

I will post some pictures of the mounting. Fairly simple in fact. I used the black plastic mounts with the permanent adhesive back available with the camera's kit.

Thank you all for the kind words.
I will now fly this plane systematically with the cameras on. So you'll see many more movies of this kind soon.
I will also use the same technique to post flight videos of the Me 262 when it'll be finished.

Cool video. Editwise, as telling the story, the multi onboard cameras
keep us in the same moment. Adding one picture shot from the ground
lets You to separate from that moment-or stay in it. It also helps realizing
what the model does and where from the runway.

You have one major advantage to many of us- the sun! I filmed our flooding local river from
my T-Rex 700 with Canon 7D today and colourwise it looks black and white compared to this...

TP.

Very cool Oli. Did you use the solid back, or open back?
A great shooter on the ground with solid equipment would be a nice addition to these awesome camera angles.
Nice work,
Paul

Thank you for the tip my friend. I will try to improve this one with some pictures and see what it does.
I am mostly limited here by my non-artist way of thinking ...

Oh yes Paul. I wish I had a great shooter with me!!!!
But I have not found any one in Dubai.
And I fly alone most of the time. So this is one great way of having at least something left from these flight.

I 100% agree with you. It would be super nice to have sequences taken from the outside in the video.

Well, Peter, this is probably because of your PC.
Check that you have the latest version of the flash player and that it is allowed in the browser settings.
If you're using internet explorer, try Firefox.
That is assuming that you have a decent PC. This is a 1080-30p video and requires a high bandwith to load as well as good processing capability to play.

Nice video :D. my PC is alright, quad core etc ;).
It is something I also want to do with the B during testing. But first I have to build one :D.

That has to be one of the best rc turbine video's I have seen! Awesome work. I bet it took ages to edit, so credit where credit is due. One small thing is I would have used the audio from just one of the gopro's. Some sounded odd, and it was a bit distracting.

Let me know on this forum when you make more!

Wanted to add that I really liked the hydraulic lines you've added to the gear. Really enhanced the feel of the underbelly shots in your vid Oli.

Fantastic job on the video! I loved the dust being kicked up by the wheels on landing. It kinda looked like a full scale smokin the tires when it sets down.
