Thank you for your humble opinion. The post that you replied to was #38 and was 5 years ago. Not really on this year's subject matter, but no issues. Bob has become more wise at JPO over the 5 years, and I would like to think my mindset has grown in those 5 years too. I am also aware of the friends of my enemies here. And, I base a fields flying space on whether it can hold an IMAC event, and SRQ's flying space is too small. |
I fly there as a guest of one of the buddies mentioned. They are more flexible than the indicated boundaries and there is really nothing around other than the county facility. But I can see where IMAC might be an issue. The runway is really the problem for big jets. A 140 size with good landing skills is about it. They shut the field to turbines a good part of the year during the dry spell. Wasn't always so, but they had a crash and grass fire, so that was that. Good guys, but VERY protective of their safety when it comes to turbine ops.
