I wonder how you can copy a model that is still under production by the legal owner
Also the tanks are very close to the tanks that i produce for the hotspot since 2001 ... http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2148264http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2148264 http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2148265 |
Hello Steven, really I not will make a copy, I will make a own version of this model, I hope best than original. I like your tank, look very nice, but mine it's own design, no copy of your tank.

I'll take a full kit when available .

DO you still sell the canopys for the hotspot? I need one. The one I have is painted or tainted blue and I want a clear one

Hey Guys I have a Hotspot a friend is finishing up for me and I purchased it in primer and it came with a set of what I believe is a graupner set of retracts. On has one air line guessing to retract the gear and release pressure and it free falls. Anyone have any experience with this set of retracts and how its plumbed? It comes with three air selonoids. Also wondering if these will have any problem running on 6.6 Lifepo batteries. Here is a pic of what the gear looks like. Any info on them would be great.

that looks like the gear Graupner sold, think it was jet1A or eurokits air up spring down. graupner had a valve kit. one was for air up supply to gear, other was for brakes and the third was for air operated speed brake. very simple system but not the best gear.

Will these valves work on 6.6v?
|
Yes, they will work

Thanks

Hi All ,
I was talking with some guys from Paritech at JetPower last week. They told me they started up the production of a new full composite Hotspot .Sales will start mid next year .The prototype showed was equipped with a P160 ! Info about the plane at info@air-classics . I like the shape of that plane . It still remains a beautiful classic . http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2182525 Regards, Marcel |
I have a Hotspot that is almost ready for primer. I need a set of retracts. Does anybody make any with trailing links? I will be flying from a grass field on some occasions. Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

Todd carries trailing link struts that fit a lot of different Mfg retracts......they might have the complete set up for a hotspot |
I had great luck with the behotecs, really precise and slop free, strong enough and they are trailing

The Graupner Hotspot was my first jet, I guess this thread inspired me to do it all over again. My original had a P-80. The new one will have a P140 RXI with a vectored thrust tube.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2195845http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2195846http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2195847

Hi Carlos
Hope you dont mind but my hotspots latest color scheme is copied from one of your hotspots! http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2197129http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2197130 It was shown in post #15 of this thread when it was sporting my home built engine and weighing some 9.5kg. Having lost our flying site for jets, i had to rebuild it lighter to fly at my local club field which has a 7kg limit due to proximity to an airport. Its now 6.990kg dry with a jetsmunt vt80 so still greater than 1:1 power to weight. It was quite a challenge losing 2.5kg but ive managed it with around 1.5 kg saved in the engine swap alone. New fins and canopy shed some 700g as the originals were way too heavy duty. I use a 1000mah turbine battery which is replaced each flight and the wing roots were a very thick wood which now have many holes drilled through to the foam along the entire length. Ive changed over to single elevon per wing and the braking system is removed as we fly on a grass strip which provides enough drag to stop (easily replaced for other flying sites with no weight limits). Finish is 2 pack epoxy paint which is only just thick enough to cover so added surprising little weight. Dave (Windy) Miller |
WOW !!! Yes, I like the Hotspot that I made. It's very pretty, congrats.

Was wondering if someone could post some pictures of their hotspot control horns of what you are using on your ailevators. I am at the point of finishing a hotspot and this is one thing that I wonder what others are doing.
Thanks, Patrick |

Heres my now single elevon setup. When i bought the plane as a half finished mess, these horns were supplied fitted so i assumed were standard graupner items (im sure someone will correct me if not the case). The original screws that passed through the elevon and formed the horn were brass so i changed these for stainless and used tread locker on all threads. I intend to add short CF tube stubs to the horn between the nut and white eyelet to add stiffness but i have no evidence that the setup isnt already stiff enough (the plane has never been pushed hard).
The elevon has hardwood inserts for the screws and 1/32 ply facing both sides in the horn area and completely glass cloth covered. Dave http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2197604 |
Going back to 1 ricardo his testing of tabs on trailing edge of body to zero out the elevons. Has anyone been successful with that
application. He states 30 deg. angle . Is that from the bottom of body. Just purchased a used HS. and didnt know about the 10mm up trim. It was quite the experience, ran out of up trim, but got it down ok, would like to know if anyone else has tried 1ricardo technique??? Rich B. thanks |
