Bill you hit nail on the head. I don't like the idea of waiting either. I know it is hard to stock the right planes ahead of time. If waiting a fair amount of time will allow us a lot of different choices then I am ok with that. No we shouldn't have pay 100% up front either.

The other key is getting the truth the first time.

It is really bad when they promises you the world just to capture your business. I deal with this every day in my job buying truck bodies. The difference is the ones that will stretch the truth will at least build a good product and there is a lot of competition. Not sure about the rc jets business. Seem like not many can deliver at all.

I hope someone finds a way to improve on a great idea.

You are correct to think about going to Yellow Aircraft for your next jet. I have built 3 of their planes (P-40's) and while they were not jets I would have to say the customer service is A++++. The products they sell is also top rated. IMO.

Wow! You were lied to from the start!
They take your money in October, then ask for more money in January by saying it's "almost ready to be shipped." Then you find out they only "placed" your order in January when they got ALL your money!? Does this sound like a con-game to you? Sure does to me.

Basically, you've been screwed.

I have to agree, although they are a builders kit they are of high quality in my opinion. Especially after they went epoxyglass layups. I have built several in the past 25yrs of flying. GREAT machines !!

Lowell is a good guy and has always bent over backwards with any issue I have had. I dont blame him for not getting on here trying to fight with the mob either. Say what you like about the company but all Lowell does is place the order once thats done hes at the mercy of the company like everyone else, he cannot make fej give someone a new jet if they choose not to.

Lowell told me that B1Bob's F-14 stab flutter was from him using the wrong screws.
Lowell told me to read the plane the riot act before the crash.
Lowell told me I was flying the plane too hard after crash.
Lowell offered me a F-18 that a customer backed out of if I removed the F14 thread.

I have different expectations of what it means to be a "nice guy."

Lowell &amp; FEJ has been very responsive to me. I've own 3 FEJ jets &amp; Lowell has been there to help me with all questions with my jet. Lowell was also available on Sunday to help with questions on my f-14 &amp; mig 29. <div></div><div>Thanks again Lowell.</div><div></div><div>I have a f15 FEJ coming soon.

I would say to those that still insist on dealing with this company and its shoddy business practices is to be sure to get a binding doucument detailing specifically times,dates custom options, specific paint etc and pay in increments as each agreed phase is finished and to time backed by photographic evidence otherwise the contract be deemed null and void and a full repayment to date of monies paid for breach of contract. Personally I would not go near an outfit like this no matter how attracive the products and pricing looked having read the experiences of others unless the deal was strictly under my terms and with the backing of my creditcard company or paypal.

I don't care if lowell or whoever is only a middle man. If he took the order and initiated the contract, then he is in fact PART of the problem. If you assist with some placing an order, (even if you didn't take the money first hand) then morally I would try and help the customer understand what the delay is. After all, that is the JOB of being a REPRESENTATIVE for a company. You are their to represent and ASSIST the customer no matter what the problem is..

Thats like going to your local auto dealer, buying a car (thats not on the lot) and being told "oh it will be 4 weeks till its delivered" then 4, 6, 8, 10, etc weeks later the dealer won't talk to you, won't help find out WTH is the delay..

The silent treatment is the biggest problem, I'm sure if someone was expecting a model in 8 weeks and it became 8 weeks and 1 day and the customer received an email stating why the model wasn't their and it was sincere the customer would have no problem... as long as a realistic expectation was given and UPDATES were provided on a somewhat regular (weekly) basis.

Hey, you guys have me convinced... when I finally go turbine... it will not be in a FEJ. No how, no way. You are making a difference. Bad products need to be highlighted.

I understand buying a position for an aircraft delivery. The manuf is not going to drop everything and build mine first. Thing is that once a place in line is secured, you should be informed (without lies) what is going on. You have a right to know.

I have been reading posts about elevator failure in FEF for several years, that issue should be resolved by now, yet it persists. Reminds me of another company that is less than honest.

Someone who takes your money based on lies and false truths he told you, is not a nice guy in my book. A nice guy would not have made false promises, lied, and would have followed through on placing the order when he said he would. None of that happened according to the buyer (victim). Sounds like this "salesman" strikes again. Anything for a commission, then lies to keep the money, and put-off the victim to the point he has no recourse. Can you spell scam?

I notice that this salesman is not even trying to defend himself. Or even offer more excuses!

Sounds like the only person being bent over backwards is the buyer.

I got an email from FEJ today stating my F18 will ship next week...lets see if that actually happens

The did send pics so it looks like its getting close to being done.

They also confirmed with me that Lowell did in fact place the order in January.... My builder was getting a lot of pressure in December by Lowell to pay off the balance and we were told the order would be "cancelled" if we didn't pay in the 1st week of January?...this was also because we were told that the jet would be completed and shipped before the Chinese new year...in February

oh well...too late to do anything about it now...I just warn all people looking to buy an FEJ in the future to ask the questions and get the answers in writing before you fork over your hard earned money...this has been an 8 month ordeal for me at this point.

It's simple. They are Chinese, they have NO values, NO morals, and they have YOUR money. Write all the contracts you want and ask for pictures they mean nothing to them. Ask any manufacturer that has products producedthere and they will tell you; if you don't watch them every step of the way they will rip you off and cut corners. Look at all the recalls and defective products they pawn off on us. My friends dog was nearly killed when the name brand dog food he was feeding him was found to have melamine in it. The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of a bargin price, andI would never pay up front to someone 1000's of miles away for what is essentialy a stock product. Good luck.

$6500.00 is not a bargain price! You can get BVM kits for not much more.
