I'm not so sure calling the Wizard the "best sport plane" is the correct description for this amazing jet. I think if you want to rag a plane around the sky in true sport jet style then there are more suitable planes out there like the Bandit or Flash for instance. What I think the Wizard does is fly proper smooth aerobatic manoeuvres in a way no other jet does. It's as close to a F3A aerobatic model with a jet motor you are going to find anywhere. I love mine and it's already my favourite jet.

If its not a sport plane then what is it? I agree it's heritage is from F3a and as such has great flying characteristics, because of this and the general quality I feel my comment was justified.

Sorry, I was not having a go. I am just saying that in jets it seems whatever plane you have it gets shoved into one of two categories, sport or scale. Where as in the prop world there are others like aerobatic, vintage etc. I don't think the Wizard is a sports jet as we have known sports jets before, it's an aerobatic plane. People would not describe a F3a pattern ship as a sports model would they?

Ok, les call it an F5TA model ; )). I did read somewhere that there will be a class,if not already, for Turbine aerobatics.

The class already exists and is F3S(althought its only provisional).

Also, Jason should take part in it, as he is an awesome flyer, the like of which we will never see again ;)

Thanks for clearing that up Geoff, I thought I read that a class exists for this type of model so I will stop referring to it as merely a 'sport model' and from now on it will be an "F3S sport model". And yes, Jason should be registered.

As an F3A flyer getting a bit long in the tooth, I took up jets a few years ago thinking that the challenge of operating these models would keep me occupied when I gave up competition flying. However, as challenging as jets are, nothing beats the buzz of competition so I now find I have two expensive hobbies instead of one!

I have flown the F3S schedule several times with my 140RX powered Ultraflash and would agree with Jason that you need a very different type of model to fly F3S accurately and stay in the box. Wizard, Futura and maybe Avanti S are the kind of models that are suitable. I just wish somebody would hold a F3S event, don't mind where in the country its held, it would be worth travelling to. I just wish we had a suitable venue up here in Scotland and the resources to hold one.
