I need someone's help. Recently acquired an old RAM 750 air start with an ECU that doesn't power the glow plug. The ECU version is the one that uses compressor pressure to control RPM, not a magnetic sensor.
Would anyone have an ECU laying around they would like to sell?

Hi can anyone tell me if Carlos RTI is still in operation as I need parts for my RAM 750 engine it seams his website is not in operation now.

Are you getting temperature from the probe? If the ECU never sees the temp from ignition of the propane go up it will never turn on the pump to ramp up. When you pull the coils out of the glow plug make sure that the coils down in the plug are not pulled to the side and shorted inside. I saw this a week ago on a friends 750. It would not start even with a glow driver.

Andy at Electro Dynamics made those ECUs, he might be able to help, only issue is some of the components aren't made anymore.

Hello Bob, good to get your reply. The control box has a code, "open plug". The grey data cable from your ECU box continuity wise is good. However, the contacts in your ECU look good and are sprung upward at about 40 degrees. The contacts in the control box are almost horizontal and I think they lack spring pressure on the cable plug when inserted home. Can I try to to bend those contacts up to gain some pressure on the cable contacts to get a good connection because the text from RAM says the code refers to that Grey Data cable. Also, do you have a cable and socket for the control box because the cable tests good but the retainers claws are broken away.. Thanks, I will call you. ...Joe

Hi Joe. The open plug message refers to the glow plug being open and not the control box cable. If you are seeing the menus on the screen the box cable connection is ok. Bob

I was able to rectify open plug message by your advise, I misunderstood and thinking it referred to the data cable. That display Msg. should have added "glo plug". for dummys like me, LOL.

That grey data cable keeps falling out due to broken locking claws. Can not find the six conductor cable on the internet, dont know the cable type number. It fits the wall phone but a wall ph cable is only two conductors. Do you have a type or part number/brand for that data cable? ... Thanks.. Joe

Joe. I just resent the manual. I made a mistake on the email address. The serial # is for the ecu only and not sure of year built but it is the latest version level.
