Paint help

I have a yellow aircraft F18 and I need some help with painting. I need tips on how to prep the fuselage seams, then priming. Any paint tips will help

Wow.. To answer this question it would take 3 pages. Sorry but but all I can suggest for the time being is to research Youtube videos on painting. Its just WAY to much info to convey here.

Scrape the seam with a single edge razor, normal to the seam line. Much faster than sanding. Finish with a 320 paper on a block. You will go through a lot of blades but this is fast. Brush prime with PPG K36 if you can get it

If it is still just the glass (no formers installed) I would take the thing into the shower and wash it inside and out first. Look out for sharp edges. In any case you got to clean it with something. Now is the time

And try everything you do first on something other than your F-18.

If it's your first paint job, I would consider Acrylic Latex.
I am currently painting an Airworld Hawk using this method, acrylics are best when a Matt scheme is done.
Clean up is a breeze with water and it's a household paint so the wife won't complain about smell just overspray!
If you want it glossy you can clear over top with Automotive clear.
Yes Automotive paints are glossy and hard, but land gear up and any paint will scratch, with proper surface prep acrylic is fairly scratch resistant and a lightweight paint job can be done!
Its also much cheaper and you can get just about any colour at the Local H/D.
Just something to consider.

That thread just pushed me over the edge of a decision I was contemplating, DIY or get a professional to do it right. I'm now looking for a pro. Awesome work BTW.
