Wing bag material?
 

I am looking to make a few wing bags for a few sets of wings I have, But I can't seem to find any material. Home depot does have the foil backed bubble wrap, but I would like to find the foil back foam like the Skymaster and Boomerang Jets have.

Any ideas where I can purchase the material I need?

Lowes has a foil bubble wrap that works perfect, I've made several bags with it and guys at my club are always asking about them.

Menards the have 3 sizes ,just made some covers for my blanik jet glider.

Look for the laminated flor underlying material the have blue aluminum foil with blue rubber foam.

I made a bunch of wing bags from the foil foam from homedepot... I found that it scratched the crap out of my planes. Very fine scratches like swrills in paint. I ended up buying a bunch of nice bags from hobby king. I still have a few that need a custom bag, I'm going to go to harbor freight and buy moving blankets and use the wife's sewing machine.

Harbor freight has movers quilts dirt cheap - thick & soft protection for wing bags, cut them and sew them to your own shape, i use them all the time and work great ......even made a set for a 55% 260

I have used quilted fabric from Wal mart, but I am sure any fabric store has it. They have work well so far.

Try sleeping bags as we call them down under ,Turn them inside out trace wing onto fabric sew around cut excess off turn back out ONE top wing bag

The material has no bubbles inside, but a soft foam also made of plastic. Some pilots told me, they found kinda bubble design on their planes, when they used the other type with bubbles inside and out.

If you are afraid of getting little scratches on your plane, you can order those plastic pressure buttons from "Snaply Nähkram".

No need to slide the bags on, you can open and close them ..... also interesting for cleaning and drying

I went by harbor freight the other day and picked up a couple moving blankets, the are $8.99 a blanket.
Came home and cut it to fit my yellow twin f-18 wing, with one side larger to make a flap. Pulled out my wifes sewing machine and made a pass all the way around the edge....pulled it inside out to hide the ugly seam, slapped out velro and bam wing bags made in about 20 minutes... not bad for $8.99 :)

Been doing the same thing for years with UHaul moving blankets. Hard to beat the price and I personally think they provide better protection than the foil bags.
I have an old Sailrite sewing machine that will sew through about anything and sometimes add some 1 inch binding to make things look more finished.
Really like your Camo bags though

I use denier(cordura) nylon and some 1/4" closed cell foam and make padded wing bags. Its a little more expensive but a set for my hotspot (wing and fins), bobcat (wings) cost me about 35.00 to make with velcro closures. They still look brand new and they are 9 years old. They are water resistant, very protective, easy to clean, and they don't scratch the wings.

I don't even sew them. I just use spray adhesive and turn them inside out so the glue joints are inside the bag.
