New CARF B2 bomber!
1 Attachment(s)
Today at Weston Park (UK) CARF will unveil its new project.
Its around 4.5m wing span. The prototype is powered by two JetCat P-100RX tubines, but CARF say its over powered and 2 x P-60 would be more suitable. Won't be released until later in the year, its bound to be a wow at JetPower 2016! More info soon http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2168169 |
Looks awesome! I wonder how it will handle a bit of show flying. Will it be self stable, or you you need to keep it in the envelope at all times? Airliner or sports jet? hm....
|
Why did they jump over the B1?
|
From what Andreas has said it will handle show flying just fine.
iGyro has made lots of things possible Dave |
WOW !! I have always wanted a huge B2! Looks fantastic!
|
I was praying that he would bring back the F86. Great sadness. :(
|
Wow, great to see some different aircraft becoming available.
Look forward to seeing some flying video of it! Thanks Dave |
I hope this is no late april fools joke. Awesome!!!
|
That is disappointing. I was hoping that this new model would be something within reach of the 'normal' modeller; maybe something for P60 or even P20. Alas this will be another new model that most won't be able (or willing) to afford.
|
COOL! I have always wanted a LARGE Stealth fighter but the B2 is cool to
|
There is no way CARF would ever produce a P-20 to P-60 airframe! The cost of moulding is the almost the same except some material, so since people live in some 'hobbyking' price bubble, they would not pay the required price.
CARF is run by modelling people, who would love to produce everyman airframes, but its a business and impossible to manufacture the low end stuff with their manufacturing process. I expect this B2 to be big numbers as it will be sold in small numbers only. |
I think it great! I have always wanted one, While I have a few jets, the thought of having one jet with 2 motors will always be out of my $ range. It would be different if there was a big price difference between smaller turbines and mid size, but when there is only a $250 difference between a K60 to K100. I we could get a single in there ....
|
This is really cool, finally something a little different. Tired of all the cookie cutter stuff. I go to the flying field and there are 200 Hawks flying. lol

Anyways, Congrats to comparf, they build fantastic jets, I am sure this one will be as well, Cant wait to see one fly,, Don't get me wrong, it looks very impressive and I'm sure it takes a lot of engineering and skill to design, build and get it to fly nicely. I was just hoping that they might come out with something that would fit my budget, available storage space and flying field. |
