Skymaster T-33 flap setting.
 

Hi guys,

I have been flying my T-33 for 3 years now, but still find it unpredictable during the final landing phase. Sometimes just before touch down it will balloon, even drop a wing. So far I have been lucky not to have a bad arrival with a cartwheel, but know my luck will run out unless I sort it.

I have the flaps and cg setup as per the manual, but it is my intension to reduce the full flap considerably, or add more weight to the nose - anyone out there with some ideas :confused:

I can tell you how my FB one is set up, the model is a bit larger but I'm sure you can adjust for size.
The Cg is 220mm at the root
Flap 45Deg Take off
Flap 80Deg landing
1/2" Crow with landing flap.
Be prepared to need 3/4 throttle for down wind and finals.

I saw and appreciated your input on the Feibo version. Hoping to get some actual numbers on the SM version without having to do any math pertaining to the different sizes of the models.

It couldn't be any easier Mike. FB 110" span Skymaster 105" span. So for example CG.

Cg is 220mm so multiply 220x105/110=210mm.

HI, I am flying with 202mm CG. It does not suddenly drop the nose.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for all your advice and suggestions. My Skymaster T-33 is now absolutely perfect. A very special word of appreciation to my longtime idol -Jack Diaz - who came to me rescue and offered all the right adjustments. Here is what I now have:

- CG 190mm from L/E measured at the wing root where the wing meet the fuselage.
- 3mm up aileron (crow) measured at the wing tip at full flap.
- flaps 75mm take-off and 125mm at full flap, measured from the tip of the flap at the wing root to the corner where it fits into the fuselage.

This T-33 is now on rails, stable and totally predictable.

Got Ali to take a flight on my T-33, this past weekend at Winamac, perfect flight, the T-33 has presence in the air, which several people said, at 201CG. was good for scale, still slightly nose heavy,as shown by 45 degree upline and half roll on it"s back and the nose will start to drop slowly.
