Your Method Of Attaching Pylons And Weapons To Jet Wings
Hey guys, would like to see how you attached pylons to the wings and of course how you attached missiles and bombs to the pylons. Thanks for this Learning Lesson on How To. Chic

I usually use dowels hysoled in to the top wing (and hopefully hysoled to a former too). To these dowels, I bolt down the pylon and then I like to use BVM easy mounts for quick disconnections of the ordinance/drop tanks at the field.

On my Hawker Hunter the tanks have "tabs" that fit into slots in the pylons and a small bolt goes through the pylon and the tab to hold the tanks in place. Bob |
My DerJet Hunter has two large headed screws in each of the the lower wings. The pylon upper mating surfaces have two matching keyhole slots where you just align the pylon over the screw heads and push them backwards to lock them in place. Never had an issue with them coming off. A gentle tap from the rear and they slide right off. A slight adjustment to the screw gap allows the tightness of the pylon fit to be adjusted. Simple.
