Alternative mix
Idea: Mix your down elevator to zero throw at gear down and idle. By that way, you will have full load on the mains during braking.
Only drawback is if your jet tends to bounce, it might call for some down elevator. Mine doesn’t.. |

Also, if you fly a gyro, then the gyro can’t input down elevator for correction to maintain the current attitude. A lot of beginner jet pilots fly the jet like their EDF Foamies, or prop planes. By this I mean, come in high, chop the power to idle and dive for the runway. Truly poor technique, and then add NO DOWN ELEVATOR? 🤔 Disaster sure to happen. Quit using the poor technique of down elevator.....period. The jet bounces due to inexperience, poor pilot skills and technique. Of course for Gunrad, their company gets to sell more jets from gear going through the wings, gear tore out, and porpoising down the runway. 🛫🛬🛫🛬🛫🛬🛫🛬🛫🛬🔥🔥 |

In the old days when channels were limited it seemed like a viable option, not ideal but viable, I have seen many wheelbarrow landings that were a little squirrely due to this.
I have always used a spring loaded switch, the one mounted top back right, for me it works as I don’t have to take my thumbs off the sticks, I have a form of ABS braking as I can pulse the switch as many times as I need or full on, its not difficult to hold full on if for example you have a GS 200 controller. There is a good benefit of this if you are using electric brakes, they are never accidently left on which can burn out your controller due to excessive amp draw. Its one of those "It works for me", I’ve tried sliders and always go back to the spring switch, the Core radio comes with a single on off, first thing I did was change it to a spring on switch Am |
