T1 models Hawk
It’s been out for a bit now but can’t find much info about it. Anybody flying one or have an insight?
Based on T1s other successful models this one should be a winner too??? |
Its a great aircraft! Super light wing loading. I flew the prototype a bunch and it was a joy to fly.
|
Been flying mine for about a year. It flies great. And a great presence both on the ground and in the air.
I am flying mine with a K140. I wouldn't go any smaller on power. |
Great to hear, I put over 400 flights on my CARF Hawk and loved it, I’ve become a scale snob though.
I like the Skymaster but am conscious of the weight it bears. The T1 seems to have the best combo of light weight and scale details. Alfa do you happen to have any pics or videos of yours? How many flights would you say you’ve put on it? |
|
Joseph,
Probably have 50 or so flights on her. We were shutdown for awhile due to a drought and then the field was closed due to the virus - so haven't flown it in a few months. Hoping to get it back in the air this coming weekend. The airframe is very light for what it is. Supposedly much lighter than the Skymaster Hawk which is the same size. She flies light also - feels the same in the air and landing as my regular T-1 sport jet. Jim |

I fly the beauty now for one year. The hawk 100 have abaut 100 flights and I love these jet so much. The quality and scale details are amazing. I have the Ace 140 mounted. Here are some pics from the delivery and the Maiden flight video. Greets chris

Jim thank you for the info. I agree with your assessment of comparing it to the T1 sport Jet.
I flew my buddies T1 after flying my carf hawk and remember saying they felt very similar. The carf hawk and T1 sport jet are pretty much identical in size. My hawk weighed 28 pounds dry and my buddies was around 25 pounds. Chris, thank you for the detailed pictures beautiful jet. construction defiantly appears to be of very high quality. I will be contacting Dirk for ordering. |
Here is video I took of Jim flying his T1 Hawk. Enjoy.

Beautiful jet Emart, any idea what your weight ended up at?
|
not 100% sure didn't weigh it
|
Congrats Ed, looks great!

Not the best quality video sky was very overcast but here is a short vid of my T-one Hawk 100

Very nice!! They fly so good! It’s like a sport jet but it’s scale 😎

Hate to derail a thread, but I'm not happy with T1 support and something you need to consider. Going via Dirk at Pacificrcjets 2 weeks ago requested for a simple landing gear part that I need to fly safely, yet to hear anything, I've asked and no response.
I like T1 Jets I am interested in others they have to offer but my experience has not been great just even asking simple questions asked (A) is this part available? (B) when can you ship it? 2 weeks in and not even a reply from T1 Yes, very much aware of the challenges in China right now, but should not take 2 weeks and counting to get a reply to a simple question. You should keep this in mind IF you need parts or support from T1 |

I have had great service from Dirk I have 3 T-one jets and another on order. along with other members I fly with all have had good service from Dirk . I usually contact him via text and he usually answers by the end of the day
|
My mistake, typo on the name. I've been texting Dirk I spoke to him and as far as today he has received no reply from T1. The time Dirk heard about my request was Aug 21st.
As for going direct to T1, I don't have a direct contact, I assumed going via Dirk was the best way. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it. And just to be clear, I have no issues with Dirk, my issue is why it's taking T1 so long to get back to him. |

Thanks - I'll give Dirk a few more days and hopefully they contact him since he's a rep for them.
|
That was quick, all resolved. Thanks to Dirk. Sorry for derailing the thread I just want keep flying before my season comes to an end.
|
Glad you got it all worked out
|
Back to the Hawk - Nice Jet! The size at a 160n turbine is great too.
|
Just ordered a T1 Hawk (short nose) from Dirk a couple weeks ago in the T-45 Tigers scheme. Am looking for any assembly, pre-flight checkout, or flight recommendations. I have a T1 sport jet with a K160G2 so am familiar with that jet and T1's quality. Looking at using Savox SA-1230 servos for flaps and SA-1256 servos for all other surfaces, as they have worked well for me on the T1 sport jet. Looking at K140 turbine (the airfield I fly at is 5300 ft), but probably won't buy until next spring. Since I have not seen any posts of CG and control throws, is there a brief manual with the Hawk with recommendations? Surprised there has not been any activity on this thread for over a year!
|
Fins,
If you go to the T-One website (not the Pacific Jets website. The actual T-One website) you can download their "build manual". Not much included, but it does give you the recommended CG and I think recommended throws. I set mine at that CG and it is dead on. The K140 is fine for power. I wouldn't go any smaller and actually would go with a 160 if I was building again just for the reserve power. If you have any specific questions when you start the build, PM me and I would be happy to give you my two cents worth. You will love the plane. It looks great and flies great. Jim |
I would go with the 160 especially if you fly off grass here are a few videos of the long nose and short nose that we have been flying CG per manual then adjust to your liking all of us have the CG moved back a little from factory
|
Thanks for the tip on the T-One manual. Found it on the T-One site! And thanks for the videos. Looks like a great flyer. I'll be back when I get the Hawk delivered, probably January.
|
Hey guys does it fly any differently with the missiles on the wings or is it still a great flyer with the drag on the wings
|
Shrek,
I fly mine with the rockets and drop tanks on. No noticeable difference in flying characteristics. Adding the drop tanks did change my CG slightly. I had to add a couple oz of lead towards the front of the plane to keep the CG the same. Make sure you mount the tanks firmly to the wings. If you had one come loose in flight, game over. |
Alfa
thanks for the info. Will do |
I’m surprised there is not a bigger following to this jet.
I do have a question regarding retracts. On the T-one site it says air retracts included. On pacific rc jets it says electric retracts included. Which is it for the hawk 100? Thanks steven |
I have air retracts/brakes on mine. But it is also a few years old. They must have come out with electric retracts for the latest version. Hopefully they kept the same struts and overall gear structure. They are well made, strong and look great.
|
Thanks Alfa, will be ordering mine hopefully soon
|
Would be nice if these factories would open up and begin to produce. All I hear is about shutdowns in China. Shipping is starting to come down as well. Maybe in 6 months all will be fine?

I have a friend that has a T-One Models 1/4.75 Hawk T1 ,and has the pneumatic retracts but needs the rest of the parts of the pneumatic system can someone tell what else is needed?
Thx!! |
Hi All, thought I would bump this thread and keep it alive.
Does anybody fly their T-One Hawks anymore? I am assembling mine now. Had a question on flaps. The manual says 20mm & 40mm. That doesnt seem like a whole lot... at 40mm for landing I think the flaps are maybe 35% down. Is this right? Can anybody who has experience with this model please chime in on max flap settings for nice low and slow flight and landings? Thanks a million! :) Shaz |
