Jat Cat or FTE?

Not a war. Just want info. To many people are more than happy with jet cat. I saw them and really like her. Some said that FTE are the old ram with some improvement and are also very good. I only saw the old ram twice not the FTE. Consider the pricing, wich one to get? Between P-80 and T 750.

RE: Jat Cat or FTE?

I would go with the T-750 for the price you get 22 pounds of thurst, and I have had two that are giving 24 pounds.

Goto a jet meet and see what most are using, and what most are having trouble with.

Just a reminder to the reps for both companies - since Marc has reinstated the "old" commercial rules, you may answer any technical questions about either of the engines listed here, but you may not make promotional posts here. The same restrictions do NOT apply to PMs.

Thanks guys,
Gordon

there are others to consider....

Simjet turbines are very fast spool up & better fuel consumption

JohnVH,
Don't have a chance to go to a jet meet. I've just been alerted and have to prepare myself to be mobilize at any time. Have to stop all my projects till I get back. I'm just looking for more info to get my turbine when I get back. Thanks

Gordon, Thank's for the reminder. I'm not trying to make good or bad reputation to any branch with this post. This is not for promotion purposes. As I told johnvh just want to get the experience that expert modelers are having with those power-plants. Anyhow I won't be able to buy my turbine until I get back from whenever Uncle Sam send me. Not the safest way to get it, but who cares.

Go with the engine you can buy any internal parts for.

RE: Jat Cat or FTE?

Avicom,

That is a very good question. The FTE engines compare very favorably to the others in terms of price. The real questions are reliability in operation and ease in getting help/service/repairs. Those issues are a known quantity for JetCats - service and reliability are excellent and probably half of the jets out there have JetCats in them, so you can get assistance from other owners very easily. The JetCats are a bit more $'s, but it would be money very well spent. The FTE engines I know nothing about, nor have I seen any of them around at local jet events yet.

I'd be very interested in any experiences that folks here have had with the FTE engines as well. Anybody?

Why is that a consideration? For most of us, the question is where can I send the engine to for fast, reliable service. Where they get the internal parts is their problem.

I guess the moderators were just kidding about what kind of posts reps could make in this thread.

Those simjets get great fuel consumption!! I see them head to the startup area full of fuel, attempt a start and three minutes later head back to the pits with the same tank of gas. Didn't fly that much.... but then again you wont need to buy that much fuel either.

Mate,

Go and buy whichever you please or can afford. They are all reliable. Take it from someone who owns and operates most of the well known brands (yours truly). I have run AMT's Simjets, TJT's, Jetcats, BMT's and Artesjets and ALL, I repeat ALL are reliable. The difference is in the service and where you live, all manufacturers are well represented, one way or another. Come to my part of the world to feel the difference. You guys in the States are pampered to the maximum, and then some. The nearest service agent in my part of the world is three thousand miles away, try this for delays.

Attached, is a photo taken last Sunday with three of my airplanes all powered by different engines (TJT, Simjet and Jetcat). All three flew beautifully and none had any problems, mentioned in threads above....

Regards,
Chris

Than my jetcat P-80 from idle to full power. Now that the P-80 has V4.9t is starts and runs flawlessly.
