Another tango is born....

Hi gang,
The prior posts and the pictures ont the tango have helped me out alot so I thought i'd add my experience as well. So far im really just getting started having hinged the plane and am now installing the gear/electronics. Lots of stuff but fortunately lots of room! The first pic here is the elevator servo. Had to use bvm thin wing mounts and a 1/16" ply plate for a floor. The servo is removable. Used 440 hardware. Scott |

Speed brake installation. BVM offset and 440 hardware on a 9202. Mounted here there is plenty of room for the uat, propane, and deck that goes over w/ has switch, steering servo, and rx (will post more pics in a few days w/ this stuff).
You can also see the larger hardwood tab off the second former. This, with some screws/bolts, will hold the upper deck in place along with some support in the rear. Scott |

I made two lower decks to mount gear. Here is the removable one w/ the robart retract valve and smooth stop. 2 robart small tanks will go in the nose w/ foam and the rx battery (will be sr 5 cell). The other deck is similar in size and placement but aeropoxied in.

I had to redo one of the beams to make room for the retracts.

Here is the filler valve/pressure gauge mount w/o the filler valves in place.
Assembly is a bit further down the road now and once I get the camera back in the basement ill be sure to update this thread. Hope these help! Scott |
RE: Another tango is born....
Hi Scott,
Any ideas as to where the C.G. location is, control surface throws and how to retain the wings to the rest of the airframe? Mine came without instructions/hardware (just like everybody else's I guess) and I feel like starting it right now, who knows, the missing parts might take ages to arrive. Thanks in advance. Chris |
RE: Another tango is born....
Ill ask my dad about the cg and throws (hes got one flying already). As for the wings if you look at them in the right light you can see some round dowels underneath the wing, overlying the wing tube. Drill them out and tap the tube.
