Or check ebay for old gasoline pumps. I got mine there, and it works fine.

Jersey cans

Best kero fuel container and pump I have ever had. My jetcat loves it to. :) :) :) And they put your name and phone number on it also. Just use your radio charger to charge it. Thank's Jersey. :)

Gas pump

I tried 2 different fuel pumps from kragen. The 2nd was rated at 90gal/hr. The problem is that when you pump through the small tubing we use they slow waayyy down. It took 20+ minutes to fuel my F18.

The Jetcat pump is awesome and it costs around $50. The F18 fuels in around 5 min.

Just use big tubing and install a adapter fitting at the end of the hose.............

How about building your own? The one I built takes 3 minutes and 21 seconds to completely empty itself (2 1/2 gallons). It takes less than 2 minutes to fill my Bobcat XL with the associated pressure. You can substitute a blue 5 gal kero can if you want. Here is a list of parts.

Fuel Gan 2 1/2 gallons....$2.75 -----Walmart
Kavan Gas pump.............$21.95----Local Hobby Shop
On/Off switch..................$1.95------Radio Shack
Project Box for switch.....$1.79------Radio Shack
Wire and clips.................$2.50------Radio Shack
Scrap Aluminum and bolt.$1.00------Leftover stuff
Tubing.............................$2.50------Local Hobby Shop
Glass or Glow fuel fitting..$6.95-----Local Hobby Shop
Total $39.00 or so!!!

Saving $100.00 bucks doing it myself-------PRICELESS

Kavan

The Kavan pumps were lasting me about 50 gallons and then crapping out. I suspected they were not meant to run continuous for 1/2 to 1 1/2 gallons.

It was the brushes that were going and I couldn't find a place to get replacements.

What are your experiences with the kavans?

kero fuel pump

The Kavan's kept running for me but they leaked like hell een straight out of the box. THe newest Jersey modeler can is awesome. I have 2 of his cans and have had nothing but good luck from them. The one with the JetCat pump fills my Phantom in about 4 minutes.

So far so good for me ... but one of my buddies who ran these pumps for his gasoline engines for years warned me to be careful which way up I mounted the pump. Supposedly these pumps are / were known for leaking after a while... and if you install the pump with the motor at the bottom this was VERY bad, because then the gas would leak down through the motor where it could start a fire. By mounting the pump the other way up, the above problem could be eliminated or at least mitigated.

I have not witnessed this problem first hand, but the guy who told me about it is very reliable, and not known for making things up ;-)

Substitutes?

Guys, use whatever pump you find rated for gasoline or kero for this simple project or pay the big bucks for the mail order one.
