9151 Servo
I have, sort of, asked this question before but need some more advice.
I bought a couple of Futaba 9151 digital servos for a project but for some reason did not use them. I couldn't return them so had two expensive servos sitting idle. I have now installed them in the rudders of my Kangaroo. My questions are; Does anyone have experience with these servos in a jet? Do you think they will be OK in my rudders? Will the normal servo horns be strong enough? I am a little concerned as they were apparantly designed for 12lb F3A aircraft. The specs are very good but they have a plastic gear train. Speed: 0.19 sec/60° @ 4.8V Torque: 132 oz/in (9.5 kg/cm) @ 4.8V Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. |
RE: 9151 Servo
siclick,
I am using 9151's on the elevators of my turbine F-15(Simjet 2300 powered),and they work very well.Metal gear servos will develop drivetrain slop over time.I believe resin gears are fine, other than impact resistance, where metal gears are superior. Erik |
