RE: kangaroo
Order the Robarts from thier online site. They seem to be the best. I had Hot Spot "euro" gear in mine, never had a problem with the gear, brakes are sh#t though. Russ

RE: kangaroo
I agree with REO I have about the same set up. On a sport plane go with the spring down type. They will go down if there is a pressure leak. And not stay up where they dont do any good..

Hi ståle
you know the landing gear from M.M. are no good. You have had the same problem, that they dont lock. |
RE: kangaroo
buy the robarts and leave your troubles behind you
I have BVM wheel trires brakes & smoothstop M&M gear problems were: bad aircylinder and trunion blocks that crack! |
RE: kangaroo
Yes thats right, i have trunion blocks from robart in two of my M.M. They are real bad copies of robart
|
RE: kangaroo
Hi Rocketman,
what's wrong with the original blocks from the MM gear? I have the MM retracts and am able to modify them on my milling machine..but how ? Can you give me some guidelines? rgds, Adryan |
RE: kangaroo
hey adryan and other Guys, why did you have to modify them? dont they come ready to work in the roo 2 ? i dont want gear that dont work but i also dont want to spend more money than i need to. are these the gear sets that are sold by Composite-Arfs ???
|
RE: kangaroo
Hello
The quality of the material is bad. The side frames are like butter. I want even talk about the trunions. Go for Robart. They know what quality stands for. Robart cost a little bit more but last for years. Composite and/-or M.M. can't even deliver spare parts. I have tryed thrue Composite but they can't deliver. Robart gears and struts + wheels from BVM are perfect for the Kangaroo. They want let you down. CH |
RE: kangaroo
Don't get the MM gear from comp arf. I damaged 1 frame side and the replacement parts are very expensive!!!!

RE: kangaroo
hey guys thanks for the help, im not gonna use the comp arf gear, it sounds like too much hassel. One more question for you all, i have a complete set of 3 rhom retracts that i bought for a byron f 16 some years ago, can they handle the weight of a Roo 2 ? i have tried to search all over the internet and i cant find any info on rhom retracts, are they out of business? i must say i'm new to these RC fourms and i'm glad i finally found these, i do have about 12 yrs of flying RC, with the last 7yrs or so flying jets. i am currently flying a BVM mig 15 with a p80, which is a sweet plane, but u really need to beef up the gear area. this is why i just got the Roo 2 , i want a everyday jet that can take a nice bounce now and then and not send me home bitter. i live in las vegas and i have a small field only 600 feet and there is drainage ditch all the way around it, so no run off. i havent ran off the runway yet but i have been forced to rush landings a few times and that has caused me to have to repair wing area around the gear. any input of the rhoms would be nice, thanks GUYS. Carl

RE: kangaroo
Hi
I tried Spring Air from my Byron F-16, and they were too week, especially on grass. I went with Robart and never had a problem with the gear. Robart is the way to go. John |
