The Hawker Hunter does it for me, it's just a work of art. The F-14 is my favourite 'modern' fighter and I hate Weasel33 for mentioning the ME262 before I did! John.

YF-12, even if it never exactly made it into service.

For those that don't know, it's the plane that eventually became the SR-71. It was originally designed as a high-speed interceptor, not a recon plane.

I vote for the F-14, then the Mig-29, then the F-15 and maybe then the F-104. That's the reverse order that I built them in.

the best looking jet fighter is the Messerschmitt 262, followed by the Mig 17 and the F-86 Sabre.
Some of the best looking fighters of all time are lockheed P-38 Lightning, the P-51 Mustang, the P-47 Thunderbolt all in natural aluminum. The F4U Corsair, Grumman F6F Hellcat, the Ki-43 Hayabusa "oscar", Sopwith camel, and the Dr1 Triplane.

The Hawker Hunter is the best looking but the Lockheed Starfighter F104 has to be the most dramatic looking, the cleanest and the most outrageous jet ever.
