Confused on operating temps

What is the maximum and minium temps for operating a turbine engine. Ive heard different amounts of degrees ranging from not flying below 65 degrees and not to fly in 100 degree weather. Is this true or not?

Well, quite a few of us have operated miniature turbines in zub-zero temps, and they run fine. As for over 100 degrees? I cant answer that as we barely break 80 F here where I live....

it is not the turbine i am concered with but the jet itself.

Altitude density the hotter is is the thinner the air, producing less lift

I have flown my jets here in Phoenix on a 106d day with no troubles other than they feel sluggish in that heat.

Hey Vin,

I get a little sluggish in that kind of heat too! I have flown in 105 F Muggy Mississippi weather. Can't talk about the cold, it gets below 50F and I don't go outside.

RE: Confused on operating temps

so basically what you guys are telling me is this. on hotter days is air in thin and the turbine react sluggishly and on colder days they work fine. Guess its like there bigger brothers "real turbines" on hot days they run sluggishly and on cold days it seems like they can run forever. Well that answers that.. thanks guys
