We Want YOUR suggestions!

Hey Guys....

As most of you know, Skymaster has been hard at work to release a variety of new high quality ARF jets. With the release of the BAE Hawk and the F-5 rapidly approaching, we are seeking your input for the custom color schemes they will offer. Please give us an idea what schemes you would like to see being offered for these two airframes. Pictures, if available would help.
The F-5 will only be available in Gray gel coat (for your personal paint scheme) and custom factory paint schemes. This kit will not be offered in a "painted in the mold" form. This will eliminate the seam line issue typical with this process.
The Hawk will be available in Gray Gel coat, the Red Arrows scheme seen below and.....?
So.....lets hear what you want! ;)

Thanks in advance!
Todd

There is/was a very pretty all black/yellow trim Hawk that somewhat resembled the Red Arrows scheme. Really good looking aircraft.

Todd,
Do you think a plane like this (the Hawk) would be flyable regularly off a 600 foot grass runway? (fairly smooth and getting better) when powered with 21 to 24 pounds thrust?

WHat about the gear? Will they hold up you think?

I like that plane... a lot! :)

Hey AJC,

If it matters, i regularly fly my skymaster f15 off a 600ft grass runway without problems. It has the Robart gear in it (likely the same to be used in the hawk) and haven't had a problem with it. They are really strong gear. I am also using the skymaster struts, wheels, and brakes and everyting works very nicely! I don't see why the hawk would have a problem off of a grass runway like you described.

Thanks for the comment - I dont know how the wing loading would be, ie, would it be similar to your plane, heavier (and require more runway to land?) or what..

The ones that come in gray primer, I assume they are ready to paint? Or is there a lot of prep needed?

How about the ETPS colour scheme from Boscombe Down.

Their ASTRA (Fly-by-wire) Hawk in flight simulator also has a similar colour scheme.

I'm just going to start building a Hunter, which looks sweet in the Rasberry Ripple colours, and the Hawk would make a nice pair. Same family history as well with personal memories.

Patrulla de Aguila.
I like the Aguila scheme too, but it belongs on a CASA 101, not a Hawk...;)

...I wish the big Hawk WAS going to be a CASA instead!! Maybe make one of them next?:D

Andrew,
Due to the light wing loading on the Hawk, it will be very well suited for grass field ops. Certainly no issues at 600ft. The Robart gear can handle the loads and I have already had some discussions with Airpac regarding gear mounts. Rest assured, they will be beefy ;)
The Gel Coat gray versions will only require the typical minor seam line clean up for painting.

DONT FORGET ABOUT THE F-5 GUYS! We need your input on this one as well

For the Hawk, I agree , T-45 Goshawk scheme...

For the F-5, the Patroulle Swiss team scheme would be cool, as would the Navy/Marine aggressor scheme posted on the other Skymaster thread. Unless I can get a T-38 at the same time...

I'll take mine in the aggressor scheme, or grey primer, or anything...just get it to me!

Barry
