Byron starter probe HELP!!
Greetings Jet guys. I have a question about my Byron fan starting probe while trying to start my F 16. :( The threads inside the probe are some what worn and I decided to drill a hole in the base of the the starter probe shaft and drill a hole on the base of the starter probe and use a small hardened bolt or cotter-pin to keep them from slipping. So far this works ok but can be prone to alot of slop.[:@] Any pictures or advice or even an alternate way to start these fans without using that long-ass abomination??[:'(]
Thanks for any help or criticism. :) |
RE: Byron starter probe HELP!!
All fans need a wand of some sort to start them. (unless you have something like a Lear or A-10)
I keep the cup and rubber cone on my starter and push the Byron wnd into it. Works good and I've had no slipping problems since I started flying jets (about 8 years). |

Yeah, you need to get the cone that will allow the starter wand to be pushed into the rubber cone. See the pictures below.
