split main tanks - header required?
Hey guys,
A quick question. If I'm running split main tanks, in parallel, on my Eurosport, do I need to run them into a third header tank before they go into the UAT, or can I run them straight into the UAT right from the "T" in the supply line? Is this third tank necessary as a bubble trap, or is the UAT sufficient for that purpose with split mains? Thanks! Bob |
RE: split main tanks - header required?
Just my two cents, i always use a third tank before the UAT. I like the insurance of that tank collecting any air before going to the small UAT.

RE: split main tanks - header required?
In my Eurosport I'm using 2 - 64oz nalgene tanks tee'd to the UAT. I have not had a flame out (knock on wood) or even found a large amount of air in the UAT after a flight. The only problem that I have had was with the vent lines. Each of the main tanks had its own vent line. Once, after filling the tanks, I noticed that fuel was running out of one of the vents. Fuel was siphoning from one tank to the other. So I have Tee'd the vent lines together to keep this from happening again.

I also typically run the tanks in series. One feeding into the other down the line to the UAT.

And since you are running a turbine -just forget about the tuned pipe...... Jackjet |
