EJF Bob-e-cat
 

Has any one converted an EJF Bob-e-cat from electric to turbine (MV 44 or simjet 700 ), If so can you give me details like where to reinforce the composite kit and if the wings can be made removable to be able to transport in an airplane as a chek bag.

This model is just to small to make into a turbine powered version. Mainly as there would be no place to put the fuel tanks or they would be very small and I do mean very small!
Look at the build thread on the ezone and see how tight the batteries fit in.

I contemplated this after seeing the success my friend Neil had with his small bobecat on EDF. I decided against it in favour of the Jetco (bobcat lookalike) as the Jetco was designed for small turbine and John Agnew has successfully flown his with mw44. Although with a little work, the Composite bobecat would probably be fine for 44/700

The Bob -E- Cat is too small for a turbine. I had a look at it too and although the turbine might fit it would not carry enough fuel unless you use a plasma bag or similiar ( I think these are banned in the US?) The wing loading would be quite high also. As Dave says the Jetco flies well on the Wren 44 if you like that shape but it won't go in a checked bag:)

The model in the photo is the Jetco it is a German model produced by Peter Adolphs. If you enter Jetco/Wren 44 in the RCU search box it will lead you to a build thread on the model and all the information you will need is there.

The Jetco kit costs around $400 compared to the Bobcat at $2,000 by the way although you have to do more work on the Jetco.

!!Wow!! looks like the simjet 1200 is the perfect size for it, What's the over all weight of the airplane with the Simjet 1200 and How big of a fuel tank can it carry? , How about the retracts?.
I'm got a Simjet 1200 on order to come the next month, so I'm very interested on this kit to have it build as a buck up airplane.

My friends weigs 7kg dry
It has a 2liter tank in it.

One "con" of the kit is that there no formers included in the kit to fit in the fuselage. There are some drawings so you can cut your own to install retracts.
