as big as you can get

How about if I had said ' ABOUT, as big as you can get'. Thats what I meant.
I wasn't going to go and check stats or anything. :stupid:

I really miss the discovery channel. I don't get it any more, :( . Too many good programs and not enough time to watch them all. I found it too frustrating. :p

Anyway, its a massive plane any way you look at it. How the hell does he get it to the field? Does he use an artic lorry?

I reckon the guy deserves all the respect in the world for going ahead with a monster like that, and for obviously succeding in getting it in the air.

I know I'll never have the skill/money/time/facilities to make anything like that, so well done to him. Wish I could see it fly in the flesh, but that will probably never happen either. :(

Ps. No fighting allowed as to which is bigger for real, as this guy looks like he has the biggest flying R/C plane whatever the scale.

Oh right, I missed that one! I know its bigger than the 747, but is it really bigger than the 225? Maybe we should say "largest aircraft to have flown over 200' high" :)

To the Sabre:

The F-86 is build by Henri Wild from Switzerland. It was shown at La Fetre big-scale-meeting, but did not fly there. He is waiting for his 500N-turbine :D

He builds his big-scalers in a small flat, I think on the 10th floor... His last jet was a big 747-400 with four JPX-gas-turbines.

You must have seen the guys flying all the big modells. It is a big show. D.H. Racing Comet in 50%, a big B-29 with four 160ccm twins, a big 50% Staggerwing..... If someone of you comes to europe, go to the event in La Ferte, near Paris.

It saddens me to witness so many of the threads on RCU degenerate into slanging matches, I begin to feel I have better things to do than waste my time reading all this negativity

What are you talking about?

I love to see how big people are making the jets, or any plane for that matter, big models are really impressive.

I wonder if whenever he landed, the thing broke down and needed engine repairs. Every C-5 I EVER flew on, broke down EVERY time we landed. (and needed major repair only in Hawaii - go figure) I have spent nearly two days straight in one of those things and let me tell you....NO FUN!!! Awesome technical achievement though, a real monster of a workhorse. Cool model too, I guess it is true, that bigger flies better. Mike Lavergne

Henri Wild is a good guy, and live too close to France to have done that <g>....It was an Airbus-400.....And he has a wonderfull wife, who actually BUILD and do a lot of the fiberglass work with him. They are a great team, and participate to a lot of meetings. Nice to see his Sabre, I had heard about it, but never saw it.

I am sorry. But it has four turbine right? :D

And he tried to destroy a police-departement with his first Airliner :)
