GALAXY:
seems to be the plane of a fellow modeller from my neighborhood. pilot and modeller is Karl Lechner from Austria, Neunkirchen. the plane is 1:10 WSP 8 meters lenght 8.3 meters height 1.94 meters 2x50ccm King innerside 2x35ccm Webra on the outside a tragedy happened to this pretty guy last fall: he stood in front of the plane, from what I have heard started the engines or did some adjustments, due to pilot error (servo reverse of the throttle servos on the transmitter) the engines suddenly run at full power. karl tried to stop the plane but came in contact with one of the props loosing three fingers of the right hand. thanks god, I have seen him flying again on the airshow at Mollram. http://www.msk.at/kl62.jpg http://www.msk.at/kl61.jpg http://www.msk.at/kl59.jpg mec |

These people are sick and need to seek help. Where do you draw the line? Why build a R/C plane the size of one you can fly in? I guess to each his own, but reality is missing somewhere here.
I sure as hell know if I wanted something this size I wouldent be using a TX, I would be flying it myself. Someone who has built something this size please fill me in on why you dont just do EAA stuff. It has to cost as much or more than a full size aircraft. That airplane must have 50 servos in it to have adequit power, did he build his own system? I feel deeply for the gentleman who lost his fingers, as that is a terrible thing to happen!!! It just astounds me that someone would build a "light aircraft"and control it with R/C. |

you have the right to think so. as have these people to think the full size guys are sick. mec |

Neat stuff!
Man...there is a HUGE difference between building a model and building a full scale and climbing into it. A UNIVERSE of difference. It's that whole "death" thing with the full scale plane. You know, the part where when the aircraft crashes, you DIE? As opposed to just bringing your model home in a trashbag? Apples and oranges, totally. |

"That one may take more than one trashbag."
Not if you use the RIGHT trashbag. The new Bob Violet Ultimate Trash Bag. The "UTB". All new BVM aircraft will have a UTB built into the tail section just in case of the need. Prices will be going up by $112 for sportjets, and $205 for the "two bagger" Phantom and F100. |
BIGGER Jets
I can assure you that when you trash a Phantom (through bleachers anyway) it will fit into one small trashbag.

To the guy that reckons this mammoth planes' owner is sick........
keep in mind that this model is 1/10. There are hundreds of models flying that are 1/8 or bigger. This model maker just happened to decide to base his scale bird on one that was already as big as you can get. There must therefore be a lot of reallllly sick guys out there, as scale for scale, their planes are a lot bigger. :) |

Well men, I am speechless...

Wouldn't that be something to see in 1/10 scale! Bob ps. Just saw a program about the Antonovs on the Discovery Wings Channel - that's how I know. I love cable TV! |
"EEEEEEHHHH, WRONG!"
Spruce Goose, 10% longer wingspan that An-225
