Nice. I like your color scheme. Good luck on your maiden.

Here are a couple photos of my Yellow A-4 I just finished building. It's all decked out with rivets, weathering, and painted on markings. It is converted to electric. The fan and motor combo produces 14 pounds of thrust and the AUW is 11 pounds ready to fly. I am waiting on a heat sink for the motor so I can get it maidened.

Vincent,

The fan is the 5 inch carbon fiber WeMoTec HW-750 and the motor is a Lehner 2250 13 turn. The batteries are the new Thunder Power Pro-Lite series. I am using two 5S4P packs connected in series to get 10S4P and 8000mAh. Electronic speed control is the Hacker 90A. The numbers from the watt meter are 88A and 2580 watts. The fan is turning approximately 31,000 rpm.

Wow, what size wire are you using??

RE: My new A4

I'm using 13 guage wire as recommended by Chris Fine at Fine Design RC. They are using this setup on their world record setting speedboats. I am prepared to replace the 13 guage with 10 guage if the wires get too hot.

K_sonn, keep us posted on your test flight. With those numbers the jet should be a good performer.

Tim,

Nothing yet. Work has been killing my spare time. I have upgraded the controller to the Castle Creation 110HV and was waiting on 10 guage wire to arrive. I received the wire this past weekend but haven't had time to connect the controller yet. Maybe I will get some time this week.

It sounds terrible because the inlets are a little too small for that combo, but it goes like stink.

Expect to be off the ground in 200' and 140+mph top speed and 500' loops.

I had a Y/A A-4 with the scale wing and it flew great. I'd suggest putting flaps on it as they really help slow down the landings and shorten the roll-out. Strong nose-down tendency when flaps are applied, so be prepared the first time you use them.

Also, don't get it too slow as it'll roll over on it's back in the blink of an eye.

Other than this, they're great flying models.

I had the JePe A-4 which is about the same size as the yellow. It hauled butt with the spiderfan and big Hacker. You'll have fun fun fun!!!
