Would you happen to have a website, or online store available I can order one from? My old compressor finally croaked and I need a nice lightweight one to replace this pos.

Thanks!

Take a 10 dollar walmart 12 volt air compressor and take it apart.

The compressor inside is very very small.

Now wire it to any of your spare batteries and a momentary switch that they sell at radio shack. And while you are there, get the big black box shown.

Alternative, walmart sells for 10 bucks a very very small compressor, no lights no guages, there is room in there to shove a battery.

You now have the "jersey modeler" of air compressors.

I've been using now for about 20 flights and I love it.

I just bought a pressure switch set at 90 psi that I'm testing an on board air compressor that always maintains pressure in my kingcat.

Very cool stuff. The compressor in side the "compressor" you get at walmart is so small you won't believe it.

Hello McGuiver!

I'm only using external battery to that black box because I like to switch out batteries rather than charge. Currently I'm using 11.1 volt lipo 1550 Mah, but I've used the jetcat 1200's that we all have lying around and I've used the 7.4 duralite and the troybuilt.

Of all I recommend the 7.4 troybuilt for the compressor. as it is 5400 mah and will last a very very long time for the compressor.

Sean,

You may want to put some cooling holes in your black box. Those little compressors can get pretty hot. Mine ran fine for a good while and then all of a sudden started blowing air hoses until I put some vents in the box. That's why they are usually installed in what appears to be a larger than needed case with plenty of ventilation holes.

Hey John,

[link=http://www.vectormfg.com/catalog/vec258-airpro-compressorlantern-combination-p-317.html]Here's the link.[/link]It was the 1st one Wayne B posted (Nony), just $24.99 US.

I like it since it runs off a stand alone 12 battery (with wall charger), or if that dies it comes with a fake battery pack that's an adaptor with extension to plug into a 12V source in your car. The work light is an added bonus that might come in handy at the strip, although I've never used it.

The pump itself has a little hatch on top to house up to 2 adaptor fittings, if your planes have different hardware like mine do. I use a standard Robart fill port to convert the output down to 3mm Festo line, then fit an adaptor from there.

I had a cheap one from the local auto supply store, but it died way too early. this one seems pretty good so far.

Don't try to check it at the ticket counter, or for that matter even get it out near your local airport!! Looks like something ready to blow up:D But very handy in concept, I like everything in one place!

John & Kelly, sorry I didn't get on line in time. I bought mine and Kelly's at Sportsman Guide but on checking they don't seem to carry them anymore. Some VERY good resonses though, so looks like good choices.
