JetJoe

Is there any truth regarding the JetJoe engines not being in production anymore?
A brief statement in the latest Jetpower mag indicates that production has ceased.

no they seized production for that engine so the magazine said.

there is a giant lawsuit going on in germany at the moment
between the german importer and customers
the customers are getting together in a lawsuit , a lawyer who is also a modelflyer does this as a freebee.
since in germany they have also a law that states if you sell a object and it does not perform as they describe it.
you need to take back the object. this is called "gewahrleistung"
the magazine was not to happy with the results of the turbine mentioned.
and so since the anouncement the importer is on holiday and also was not present at the jetpower meeting this year.
would have liked to see finaly a jetjoe in flight.
maybe next year.[:-]
o anyone who can read german here is the adress of the "sammelklage" (all the people that complained)

The turbine referred to in Jetpower magazine is called a "Baby Joe" Is this the same as a "Jetjoe"? Makbe Skymac can expand slightly on his answer to the original question instead of just "No..."

Well after Bablefish and some time seems like to me who ever was the seller in Germany decided to publicly sell the original engines and people are tired of putting up with them with flame-outs and inconsistence thrust readings at half the advertised power...

Although it was not flown but once, many people saw a brand new JJ-1400 production motor fly at the Super South Jet Event toting around a 19.5lbs plane fine...The first time it was fired was about 10 mintues before the flight to check it out..

Oh, leave me out of it! It's a lose/lose situation, no matter what I say, someone will jump on me, I got beat up enough, so forget I even have one, I'm not talking anymore about my own experiences!

But I want to hear about this giant lawsuit!

I think that Sandor means a class action by the term" giant lawsuit." Skymac, pehaps I am a bit on the dense side but I did not really understand your reply.

Hah, some people never do..

From my take its a "group" of users/customers that are complaining of false advertisment aka (misleading Thrust, Egt,etc) and trying to bring a lawsuit upon the agent in Germany who sold the units? Please correct me if im wrong, my German translation is not to swift...

Me, I know nothing about it, would love to hear about the giant or class action, or whatever lawsuit.

So, this would be Modellbau Pollack that is being sued?
I don't speak german, so maybe someone can translate some of that thread on the German site. The thread has been closed, I don't know why.

Hello,

i know this thread. The moderator of the forum has closed the thread, they will not get problems with someone.

My english is not the best, but what do you like to know?

Some customers talk about what the y can do because the product is not working or has not the specification what the seller is offer. It is right that they talk a lawsuit, but i think it has not be done in the moment.

Thanks. So what Sandor said was not quite true?

How many people had problems? What kind? Were they, mostly, you think, user-related problems? Or real problems with the engines?

Altavista crapped out when I tried to use it to translate the pages ; Google (http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en) did a bit better, translating about the first half of each page. Although there are some funny aspects to the translation, you can still get the gist of it. Seems like there are some people upset about the fact that certain turbine parts are disintegrating and "flying past their ears" when they try to run their engines.

Can't trust a computer translation...
FEAR of parts flying past their ears, or parts actually flying past their ears?
I mean, MANY people had this fear here in america, many were convinced these engines would kill us all, did not happen yet...

RE: JetJoe

It is quite amazing that the Jet Joe bashing is still continuing. There is no doubt there were issues with the JJ-1200, but after hours of searching I am yet to find a report of any disasterous failures with the JJ-1400. I know some one with a JJ-1400 and it runs great. The only issue was FADEC related. He had a very experienced turbine pilot strip it down and inspect it and all he could say was it was a perfect entry level engine.

rpmtech 10-04-2005 06:03 PM

RE: JetJoe

Not trying to be a smart ***** at all, but Whats an "entry level" turbine?

RE: JetJoe

Sorry, should probably have said a good first turbine.

RE: JetJoe

Hmmm...again, not to be a smart ***** but " He had a very experienced turbine pilot strip it down and inspect it" How does being an "Experienced turbine pilot" qualify him as capable of inspecting an engine internally and commenting as to it's quality? Just curious [sm=confused.gif]...
