RE: Micro Video Camera

I have a question about the CVS cam. I noticed that many guys power the cam using a free channel on the receiver which runs at 4.8 volts. However, the 2 AA batteries the cam came with supply only 2.5 to max 3.0 volts. Doesnt that fry the circuit board??

The cam has 2 power inputs. If you use the right input, you can power it with your RX battery without frying the circuit.

so no one has a range problem?
i am the only one then?[:o]
I know this is an old post in an old thread, but I have advice. The signal going over the lens extension is raw, unprocessed video, 27MHz (as I believe was mentioned elsewhere in the thread). This signal, going over long ribbon cables, can cause interference both with itself and with nearby transceivers.

There are two easy ways to combat this. First, you could carefully divide the ribbon cable up in to single strands (slice along the notch in the insulator with a razor), and braid or twist the wires around each other. This is the same method used in unshielded network cables to cut interference. The other method (as used in shielded network cables) is to wrap conductive foil around the outside of the ribbon cable. Combining both methods should yield the best results, in terms of both video quality and interference in other components.

NOW, on to the reason I read this thread in the first place. Is anybody still providing pre-made lens extensions? I sent Louis123 a message, but no reply, and there's nothing on ebay. Even if it were just plans for making your own, I'd really appreciate the help. Otherwise I'm going to have to do it from scratch, duplicating all the work somebody else has already done [&:]

This is from a FlyCam One. Takes still and vid.
I picked one up from Hobby Lobby ~$80

Put it on a Super Cub.
If it hadn't been so windy (or if I could fly better), it would've been better.
Nice clear vid.
