RE: Interesting....
Do the CL guys have a third control line to allow remote shutdown on command ? If not, what other mechanism do they use to meet the turbine safety rules ?

RE: Interesting....
ORIGINAL: tomcatman OK fellas....let's not start THAT again. I don't wanna delete posts here, but i'm starting to take a zero tolerance approach to this taboo subject. Back to the topic at hand ok? thanks guys... Richie |
RE: Interesting....
Yeah, but no one told me what a Shillmaster was yet.
By the way, since when don't you have to fly around you in circles?[X(]? Must do that BMFA A cert then....:D Let's add another topic. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all[&:] Gazzer |
RE: Interesting....
I'm all for the "whatever floats your boat" but a turbine in a CL plane. What's the freekin' point of that. But hey, I don't see the point in CL anyway.
To me, it was an old school step to flying RC. Simulators have replaced that step, except the knowledge gained in engine tuning and control surface setup, etc. I realize that there is a very large control lone contingent, as MA pages are generally monopolized with this "exciting" facet of the hobby[:'(] I do support every facet of this hobby, as what's good for one, is good for all. But, CL and the rubber powered peanut stuff never ceases to just boggle me. |

MA may deceive you as far as how much CL goes on...not THAT much...but there is quite a bit of coverage in MA, Bob Hunt, the editor, is a serious CL guy. But, also...where else would you read about that stuff if MA did not give it some pages? Free flight, well, it can be awesome. I will say flat-out that the very best modellers I have ever seen are FF guys, and some of the nicest, too. I've seen peanut jobs that took more time and thought than any jet. But, hey, it does not move everyone as it does me. |
RE: Interesting....
Well I was about to close this one up until I saw it actually got onto a topic finally here in the late stages so please keep it on an rc topic and not about drama. I'm sure we are all capable of this right?
All I will say is that ET was invited back here by me because many members in here missed his contributions and comments. While not everyone apparently likes his opinions or comments that is fine. Our job here is to try and ensure all members abide by the rules of the forums and when they don't we deal with their posts. If their opinions or style of delivery are all that are at debate for ET or any other RCU member for that matter then there is always the ignore/block button for any user here. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/image/block.gif |
RE: Interesting....
the competetive control guys rule in my book...(never flown one personally) ...anyone that can keep track of how many inside loops they've done and then unravel them in the opposite direction all while getting dizzy turning in circles get my vote hands down.....the jet stuff is a piece of cake compared to what those guys do....Ron
