RE: impressed????
I also admire Ali`s flying in the videos I have seen........... It realy makes me want to improve :D
|
RE: impressed????
You said don't mention names so I wont mention Ali's but at The Shkespeare Rally last year he was flying the Strikemaster with virtually no one but me watching.
Nothing spectacular in terms of aerobatics and throwing it around, it just was graceful, flowing, atmospheric and incredible. He also made excellent use of the smoke system to amplify not replace manouveres. It was the kind of flight that just made you stand still and remember you were pitched against nature!!! Gazzer |

Very impressive too. |
RE: impressed????
David Shulman with his p70 powered Super Bandit. Four point rolls at mach 3 wing tips 2ft from the tarmac and he had it every inch of the way. Just the best ive seen.

RE: impressed????
Many many years ago...A guy prop hanging amodel taking it behind a car around the field still prop hanging taking the model out of sight but still prop hanging....Same guy flying weston uk Magnum in the dark at our field during a local meeting and landing it at his feet. Flying on pure sound. No names mentioned there;):D;)

RE: impressed????
Although not jet related, the one flight that left an indelible mark on me was a demo at my local club field about 10 years ago by the then UK aerobatic champion. I couldn't believe a model could be flown that gracefully and accurately.

RE: impressed????
oh my God that is insane wojtek.... After that takeoff I think I would have been running for the hills!
Greg |
RE: impressed????
So i take it you are impressed too Greg ??? :D ;)
|
RE: impressed????
Wotjek
Two things I noticed. 1. The guy at the right hand side of the take off run directly below where the aircraft hit. Be he doesn't stand there anymore! 2. Alan did not shout landing. It is really rotten to see an aircraft go in and that looked to me as if it was the total of totalism, a great shame. However if your going out in style, they don't get more stylish than that![:@] Commiserations to Alan, Gazzer |
RE: impressed????
The most impressive flying I've seen was Mark Leavesly and some other guy flying a night time aerobatic formation with 40% aerobatic planes.
This was 8 years ago at the JWM in England and I was so amazed that to this date, I don't know if I really saw it or not...:D I haven't seen anything in 8 years more impressive than that. Are they still doing it? Jack G Diaz |

RE: impressed????
Liberty Bell 2005, it was late in the day on saturday, about 7 pm . A jet pilot test flew his aircraft and it was totally out of control. it was on a B line for the ground. then Eric ran over grabbed the transmitter and save that guys jet. that is what has impressed me in a long time
|
RE: impressed????
that routeine Tom Dodgen and Dave Malchione did with their f100s supr of the moment was quite impresive as well at the 2005 Liberty Bell Jet rally !! it looked as if it had been practicd several time over, when in fact it was the first shot at it .. i especially remember the 2 f100s crossing right at field center ...
it was a good show .. Wojtek |
RE: impressed????
ORIGINAL: Gazzer that looked to me as if it was the total of totalism wojtek: im impressed, you don't see 5 grand explode into a clump of trees to often.... Greg, |

RE: impressed????
My old club VP, who used to complain about everyone's flying and guys drinking, took his 12 lb. .40 sized trainer off and proceeded to fly through the pits and then through the tent where all his buddies were sitting. Geezers were gawk'n, squawk'n, and bail'n out. He kept "control" and made a descent landing and promptly asked me for a beer. He never again complained about drinking beer at the field after that. (circa 1982 when beer was legal;))

RE: impressed????
Bob Fiorenze did put on some fantastic demo flights with all of the YA airframes, but the most impressive YA F-14 flight I ever saw was flown by Dennis Crooks at a Greater SW fan fly in the early '90s.
I have seen some pretty impressive F-4 Phantom flying from David Reid, Phil Nuza and Tom Cook. |
