Here's a few shots of my newest baby, its the A10 sold by Roger Shipley (jetadic) ,
I have 2 JetCat P120s, JR 8411s on all surfaces including fowler flaps, twin recievers, etc etc etc.

I havent flown her yet because of brake and landing gear issues, but they have been resolved and now I'm waiting on the weather.

Turbines are setup for simultaneous spool up, port and starboard engines are setup on pots instead of 3 position switches.
I'm using a JR10X..
Tams Pipes, gattling gun done by Dan Gill, super detailed cockpit, and lots of engineering such as a side hatch with door for all charge jacks and 3 position switches for either turbine run or charge, also military spec mini amphenol connections for charging ECU batteries.
Done in Snow Camo scheme with PPG basecoat and satin clear.

what a beast, its really hard to hold her back at full throttle.

Its about 99% complete, I have a little detail work to do and will be adding graphics and nomenclature soon..

Rick,
I can't wait to see this baby fly. She's a real beauty. Has anyone else flown theirs?

Not that I'm aware of, I think I'm the first for this particular kit, call me guinea pig or should that be guinea hog?

stats

By the way, I'll keep everyone posted through this forum on the flight characteristics,, I can say one thing for sure, she's heavy!, I think I'll come in at about 53 lbs wet or somewhere thereabouts..

but I have plenty of punch to push that weight around, roughly 1:1 ratio, 2 - P120s with 28 lbs each..

Rick,

Think Lumberton for the maiden.....and let the Mississippi Gang know when it is going to happen.

Hi Rick;

Good job!!

Just want to let you know that the P120 is rated at 26 lbs and you may have some other losses in the pipe. You "may" find that a P160 in the future may be a good upgrade.....

BAGOSTIX 12-07-2002 06:28 AM

P160

I think 2 - P160s would make this plane "squeal like a pig"?
the 120s should do just fine.
By the way, did you get your crates yet? : )

Man... that looks great but those Jetcats sure are purple !! You could probably paint the covers with something that would come off relatively easy when you want them purple again. Looking forward to getting my first JC in a few weeks !

fans

I'm looking into turbo fans for this, that should dress up the pods!!

I was going to flat black the entire pod are including the engine domes once I flew her..
I think that would look much better, the purple is a bit un-scale

HAWG FLIGHT....

Best of luck with that good looking bird Rick. With all that weight be sure to add grease to your landings!;>)

BAGOSTIX 12-08-2002 03:44 PM

grease

I think I might need to teflon it in, grease may not be enough with the grass runway... : )
I'll keep you posted..

Hey Rick, I am ready for the big one....waiting on a 50+weather and a south or southwest wind.
No detailing done......just what it takes to get this monster in the air before subzero weather.
I had a wheel retainer nut to come off inhigh speed taxi in the parking lot........drilled and installed a set screw in the retaining nut.

clean

What a clean installation Rog, looks great, lets chat about the brakes and gear before you fly her...

BAGOSTIX 12-23-2002 02:32 AM

ALMOST THERE

The Hawg hasnt seen air yet, I recently bought a set of brakes from Darrell at Sierra Precision, www.sierraprecision.com WOW!! what a nice set of brakes, the Dubro setup that comes with the kit melted on my first taxi in the parking lot, it is a 6" Dubro Plastic wheel with a plastic disc on the inside of the rim, the brake piston extends when air is introduced, and it rubs against the flat plastic plate "not good", as I said, first time I applied brakes, it melted the plastic.. so I bought a set from Darrell, "problem solved", in addition, the tube that comes with the kit seems to be a bit thin, so instead of waiting for a problem to happen (which it may not) I filled the tube with structural A&B foam, this added weight but its solid as a rock and now I have no fear of hard G turns..

I'll post flight stats this week, I am ready to go with her... all is well in happyland,

anyone knowing of a graphics company that would have a 1/6 scale or thereabouts graphic of a HAWG face for an A10, send me a link please.. my alternative is getting pro mark to do a dry transfer, which I'm sure they can do..

the 2 P120s are beasts, 10 yards behind the blast, caps where flying off of peoples heads... looks very cool at night by the way.
