5/10/07 Update.

According to Mr P. ( builder) I can pick it up by mid next week. I'd like to give it a flight or 2 before I get her all painted and detailed up, I have a feeling that it's going to take a long time to get the scheme I chose for it completed compared to the time the build took, who knows. I also had a larger fuel tank made for it as the one that comes from Airworld only carries 121oz (not enough for me ), it will arrive tomorrow and it will hold 182 oz good for those 12 minute flights ;)

Hi Barry,

Thanks for the offer but shipping this thing is definitely going to be a PITA, 116 inches long is gonna take a very large crate :D. Ali and Thomas Gleissner made themselves very clear telling me NOT to power it with the P- 180 so Titan it is. I have to take their word and advice very serious since those 2 are the only ones flying the Mig 21. First flight is scheduled to take place next Wednesday latest Thursday, I'll let you know how it went [:o]

I'll see you soon my friend, say hello to Don for me and I'll probably hook up with you at a TX meet or a weekend of flying soon.

5/12/07 update

I could not use the new tank as there was no way to get it in the Jet so I have to settle with the factory tank ( 121 oz ). As you can see the cap had to be custom made for the factory tank for the simple reason that my builder ( Mr. P ) did not like the way it was designed.

She's ready, after the first and second flight she's going straight to the paint booth.

Thank you Mr. P for building the sled in 19 days and the incredible build job you've done.

All I have to say "una silla electrica". Good luck with your maiden flight. We are all set up with a tent for Kentucky.

Any update on the maiden?

Well, we started the turbine and did all the proper range checks, taxi runs etc.. Everything was going very well until we discovered fuel leaking from the bottom of the tank where it's joined at the factory, we decided to pull the tank out and repair it properly. The factory tank is very thin glass hence the reason me wanting to replace it with a stronger and larger tank. The replacement tank I got for it was too large so we had no other option but to keep the stock one that's kind of weak if you ask me. I also had some minor issues with the steering that I would like addressed before I launch it. Other than these two issues everything else checked out. I was very nervous too so I'm glad we decided to do this another day, we're shooting for this weekend (Sunday) if everything works properly.

No updates Johnny?

Let's see, it's finally painted and hopefully I'll get it flown this week. I had great expectations and was left a bit disappointed with the finished product. My painter did a great job as usual, the scheme I chose looked amazing on paper, unfortunately that's not the case with the model.

Thank you.

It was not bad, it was unconventional, but it was good. I saw the pic´s before you deleted them and i bet the visibility of that bird should be great.

This is the scheme that's on it. I guess I just need time to get used to it, there's a lot going on in this scheme ( very busy I guess ).
