Always pay for items through ebay with a CC and use PayPal, never ever just paypal someone without going through the auction site.

This is a total scam. This same seller Raisethehammer tired selling a Skymaster BAE Hawk with a jet cat P120 in it. That was a combination to 2 stolen RCU adds. Don't even think about touching this. I am also in the Woodland club and have never seen this aircraft before.

RE: Do you know this jet guy?

Hopefully, eBay will freeze this auction before it ends, and the person who rightfully owns that account can be found. I feel sorry for the guy, if it's been stolen. If it's fraudulent it REALLY scares me. He's got tons of positive feedback. That's deep.

RE: Do you know this jet guy?

This auction is definitely under investigation. I just ended a live chat with eBay. THANK YOU for posting shifty auctions like this! I hope this guy is stopped, even though I doubt we can catch him. The phishing scams used to get info are pretty good. I figure this will be ended before tomorrow afternoon.[>:]

RE: Do you know this jet guy?

Anton, how come the struts, wheels and brakes for the F-18 are not listed independently on your site? Suppose you break something on yours, wouldn't it be nice if you could go to your site and order replacement parts for an F-18? Maybe you have a wet start and ruin your pipe, shouldn't the pipe be for sale on your site as well?

HOW TO AVOID A SCAMMER 101:

Scammers prey on:
1. Victims looking for the such a great deal that their Spidey sense is ignored
2. Victims who just don't know any better
3. Victims who trust too easily

Scammers are good, they make the deal look so good too. But sometimes you can call them out easily.
Common Sense tells you not to hand over a bunch of cash without verifiable proof or good references or at least having an insurable way of paying like a CC.

Interestingly enough, raisethehammer ryhmes with imascammer..

First step: First you act like an overzealous new guy with just enough knowledge and REALLY want the item. Sometimes, Diffuse your question with false info. (Scam the Scammer) and be polite and submissive.

QUESTION TO raisethehammer:
Wow, sweet Jet! I've always wanted an F18. How does she fly? Stable in the air? I think there are some guys here who can probably help me fly it. wow, she looks great. I wish you had a buy it now, I'd take it for $3000, can't stand the bidding process! Is the Titan motor any good, plenty of power? And can you ship it, I just moved to Nevada but maybe too far to get it here.
Thanks for your time.
Tommy

HIS REPLY:
Yes very stable and flys brilliant , fantastic!!! the titan motor is in mint condition , plenty of power. I will ship it to nevada for $125! Yes if you want the plane il sell you it for $3000 thats including shipping. Pay by paypal to [email protected] , and i will remove it from auction for you asap. Thank you

You can see that he immediately asks for payment without you getting any more information or any dialog about the details/phone numbers, nothing. Yes, great, just pay...
He wants your money, that's all.

Now that you know he's a scammer, offer a safe way of paying or offer to meet in person. Note that he didn't take the $125 quick cash, he wants the big $.

YOUR REPLY BACK:
Fantastic, thanks Eddy.
I have an account with escrow.com so I just filled out the form regarding the jet and your info. In my account they will deduct the $3000 plus I added another $300 for your trouble to use the escrow system so I hope that's ok. So when I receive the jet, the $3300 will be transferred to your paypal account. Because it is such a large money deal, your protected as well and it costs you nothing. Furthermore to instantly cover your shipping costs, i'll paypal the $125 shipping amount to you so you're not out that money.
Sound fair, please let me know if this is ok and cancel the auction to me,
thanks eddy,

Check out his reply and then the demand for the money or else!!! you, the overzealous buyer, will not get the item!! so he wants to make a quick $2,000 and has the balls to call someone else a scammer! which, of course, is true at this point.

HIS REPLY BACK.
In your dreams! im a member for over 5 years my freind! people like you have tried this scam with me before! it never works so just quit it! full amount now by paypal! or at least $2000 then the rest after delivery by myself! or else nothing

Offer to meet in person to hand him the cash.

YOUR REPLY BACK:
Eddy, sorry, that's ok not using escrow, I do have some business in Cali anyway, just stopped by the bank and withrew the cash for the jet. I can meet you in person to deliver the $3,000 so you know that I'm not a scammer. I'm on the road in a minute so Send me a reply back and I'll get it on my blackberry on where you'd like to meet. I'll be there before your auction ends. Now you don't have to ship it either!
Tommy

There is no reply yet.

CLASSIC, and pretty much the same format used when I called out a guy on ebay that was selling a Ducati motorcycle for a rediculously low price. Good reading and excellent knowledge on how to keep yourself one step ahead of this style of scam.

Yap, I just saw the MB339. I sold it couple months ago. What a world. I can't trust ebay anymore.
This guy using my picture. Of course I sold to other guy not this seller.
I contacted ebay.
This is second warning.

Item number: 270117416490

I'd better stay away ebay. Can't trust anymore.

If I buy anything over $1000,I will buy at the local.
This is sad~~!!!!!

We have lots of good jet guys in Sacramento
to verify and help in any jet sales coming from here or
dispense the needed reprisals/peer pressure if required.

I would be willing to bet that the winner which was a new Ebay member with no feedback was in fact the seller as part of the scam. Same seller burned me and I was bidding it up know it was a scam to see what would happen.

RE: Do you know this jet guy?

I emailed the guy to see if he would respond. This is what I received...

In a message dated 5/10/2007 8:14:16 AM Pacific Standard Time, [email protected] writes:

Hi, this is a great price! Would you end the item early for $2000? Also, how can it be shipped. I live in Arizona, and could drive to CA to pick it up. And, does it include how to control it?

Hi

My MB339 Turbine Jet P120 RTF is not on ebay anymore but is still available for sale. My usual schedule was modified because I have to take care of some business, so I had to go to Spain and that's why I have closed the auction.
My final price for the jet is $2,000.00 including all the shipping costs and insurance.
I must add that you'll have the opportunity to inspect the item before you actually pay for it.
I will wait for your email to let me know if you are interested in knowing more details about the purchase.
Thanks and sorry for delay
Daniel

I responded back, GREAT, where in NV is the jet. I can get there this weekend easily to see it.

We'll see what happens...:D

RE: Do you know this jet guy?

According to PayPal the ID given in the original post has the persons account associated with the email address as a valid and verified bank account from the UK and unless there was some major tectonic movement that i wasn't aware of that's not in California.

RE: Do you know this jet guy?

I saw this too and even placed a low bid to see where it would go. I asked him what was included in the deal and if he could send me some pics of the bottom. This was his reply:

"i will borrow my freinds camera to take more pics. Jetcat has less than 8 hours run time. It comes with a transimitor. Buy it now $2200, this is my plane! i can deliver or you can collect. if you want it delivered pay $1100 deposit and the rest on delivery, i accept paypal! i have had loads of offers so if you want this plance let me know asap"

lol "transimitor". After seeing this I knew something was wrong. He never sent the pics + he never replied back after I also asked him for he serial number. Never got that either.

RE: Do you know this jet guy?

I hate scammers too so I did a bit of quick research and this is what I came up with.
Call me Chris Hanson.
It appears that: raisethehammer id was registered in the UK ebay.

So I did an easy search on his user ID, raisethehammer

This came up on another forum also a guy from the UK.
His name is David Paulley location below.

Default Potential lot advice
Hello all.

I was pondering on a pending deal earlier, and I thought where better to come than the wholesaleforums to find advice? I've got a potential deal to take around 60 aged 6-7 brand new child mannequins - full size. They come from the manufacturers at up to £100 per mannequin. I have no interest in selling these on individually, but instead I just want to let them go as a lot elsewhere. So in total they're worth around £6,000 when sold at retail price if they are sold individually. What would you consider a fair price for these items for a quick investment? I don't want them for more than a week or a fortnight at the most. Would anybody else here be interested in purchasing this kind of item if I took the lot? I have my own ideas for what I'm willing to pay, but it doesn't hurt to listen to all sources, eh? Thank you for reading my first none-introductory thread. This is perhaps the wrong area to be asking this kind of thing. If so I apologise.

Best regards,

David

So the Chris Hanson part......

So both registrations in the UK ebay and this forum post for Traders online.
What further ties this together is he is talking about selling mannequins in the post. If you look at his ebay feedback on the 3rd page a buyer made a feedback comment referencing a mannequin shortly after his above post in 06. So maybe this ebay ID is the same guy.

What throws it off is his email address, [email protected] so maybe its hijacked or just a mimic coincidence...FWIW

RE: Do you know this jet guy?

This morning the guy sent me another question from ebay stating the following:

"The buyer of the jet was a new member and a timewaster with wrong address etc. Do you still want this jet for $2200? let me know"

I thought EBAY would have shut this crap down by now. I am turning this over to the police.

RE: Do you know this jet guy?

Below is my chat session with Ebay. They have verified that this guy is the owner of this account. This thing just gets stranger. I will report this to the "other" agency. I don't know why Ebay can't do this. This is rediculous.z I go by Machine_Gun_Kelly on ebay.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's the transcript of your conversation
Your chat session started.

machine_gun_kelly: Hello,

machine_gun_kelly: I need to report active fraud. A thief is trying to steal money from me and others using someone elses ebay account. This has already been reported to you guys but you obviously STILL have not shut the account down. This makes me believe that you guys are not taking all of these complaints seriously. Who can I contact to make sure that this guy gets stopped? My next move will be to contact the police.

machine_gun_kelly: hello - anyone there??

Katen: Thank you for waiting. I'll do my best to resolve your issue in a timely manner.

Katen: Hello and thank you for contacting Account Security Live Help, my name is Katen. Please give me a moment to review what you have already typed.

machine_gun_kelly: ok

machine_gun_kelly: btw his ebay name is raisethehammer

machine_gun_kelly: item no 290113943841

Katen: Thank you. Please give me a moment to check this.

Katen: Thank you for waiting. After checking this issue, I see that this is not an unauthorized activity on the seller's side. I suggest that you contact us through email so that your concern will be redirected to the department that handles these issues.

Katen: We do have a department working with various local, federal, and international law agencies. While the details of our actions in this case cannot be disclosed, some of the recent news items related to our collaborations with law agencies may be found here: http://pages.ebay.com/securitycenter...ase_study.html If you like, you can direct this issue to your local law enforcement agency, as we can not initiate a 3rd party report on your behalf. We would then be happy to assist them in their investigation. They may contact us at the following link with your user id as a case reference: http://pages.ebay.com/help/confidenc...bays-role.html

machine_gun_kelly: your kidding ruight?

machine_gun_kelly: the jet he is selling has already been sold on another site

machine_gun_kelly: he simply took the pictures from that site and is trying to sell the item

Katen: I understand. However, it seems that the seller listed these items. Therefore not an unauthorized takeover issue.

Katen: That is why I have to redirect you to the department that can best assist you.

machine_gun_kelly: what department is this?

machine_gun_kelly: and..what do you mean by "unauthorized takeover"?

Katen: It's the department that deals with Image theft, like the one you reported. You can reach them though email.

Katen: Takeover means that an unauthorized person listed the items without the real owner's knowledge.

machine_gun_kelly: this isnt just image theft. This is image theft AND fraud. He is trying to sell something that he does not own using the images to support his sell. He doesnt even have a jet and he is trying to sell one.

Katen: I understand. That is why I'm redirecting you to the department I mentioned earlier.

machine_gun_kelly: ok I'm sorry I didnt see the other two paragraphs you typed below the first one. I just need to goto that link?

Katen: Yes, you may do that. However, I also suggest that you email us about this as well.

machine_gun_kelly: And is there someone at that link that I can report this fraud to?

Katen: Yes.

machine_gun_kelly: so you verified that this guy actually owns this account and that he is not using someone elses account right?

Katen: It would seem so. Yes.

machine_gun_kelly: Ok - thank you for your assistance. I will forward any info that I recieve from the other department.

Katen: You're welcome. Thank you for visiting eBay's Account Security Live Help.

The agent ended your chat session.
