JR Data safe system
 

Any ony have a Data safe from JR and using it with a computer that has USB inputs?

I bought the adapter cable that goes from the 9 pin sierial port to the USB.
Problem is that the program is not detecting the interface because it can't find the port. It tells me to set the port manuelly.
I have tried to select the d4 different ports and the auto detect still with no results.

Any help or suggestions would be appriciated.

Joe,
I went through this my self and it will not work cause your computer does not support serial ports.

You will only need to find a computer ( see if you have an old one or a desk top) and you might need an adopter for the number of pins. That is what will work. I went through that pain so I know it.

Joe,
My computer has no serial ports. I bought a Belkin USB/Serial Adapter and have no problems with the Data Safe 2 whatsoever.

you have to select the correct COM port for the USB and it should work fine.

Thanks for the help, I found out that I had a bad Adapter cable. I took it back to radio shack And got a new one. It works fine now
