RE: Weatronics Receivers

I have been flying two turbine powered jets with Weatronics and found them to be rock solid...no glitches or lock outs.

Hi

I have been using weatronics D/R in my jets, however with the advent of the new JR 12 channel 2.4 MHz I am wondering where to go?.

Do I go to 2.4 MhZ and use a PowerBox 40/24 Champion - Li-Po Version or similar or do I stay 35 MHz and use weatronics D/R?

has any one done the comparisons with features and costs?

Kind regards

Derek

Why mess with success? Only advantage I see is that another transmitter can't interfere with you. 2.4 has its own problems.

I'm also wondering the same thing?, I tend to stick with the old and trued hardware but not sure on this one.

Has anyone used Weatronics in PPM mode with a jet?
No, but why would you want to do that?

with Futaba 12z PCM1024 = 10 channels with PPM it = 12 channels. I'm have a unit that I'm using in PCM mode. I was just wondering if any body used it in PPM mode could be handy having 2 more channels down the road.

Mike
good to hear you using it in PPM mode. I take you haven't had any problems. Did you set Failsafe up on RX?
Thanks

I too use PPM24 mode with my Graupner 12 CH RX's with no issues ( knock on wood )..

If I was to make a switch would definitely be to Weatronics.

The support is one of the best things, along with the weatronics equipment. Gerhard linked to my computer from his and then to my airplane, he downloaded all the new data, then check all the servos and sync. all the gear doors. The man went above and beyond to help before, during and after the first flight on my plane. The weatronics worked perfect, all i will fly in my Jets from now on.

I got better range on one of my jets which I installed the Weatronic unit. Can't wait for them to come out with the 2.4 system.

It does run on Bat 1. Bat 2 is a reserve pack. I think that is why they suggest using LiPo packs because they can handle the amps.
