Are the 11oz saddle tanks in the picture part of the main fuel system? If they are, you may want to run fuel through them to make sure you can draw all the fuel out. I had a problem with 10oz oval tanks laying on their side. My clunks wouldn't get to the last 1.5oz of fuel(3oz total). I had to modify the clunks by drilling them out and installing a brass tube extension to be able to get all the fuel out. Your setup may work a little better since the your tanks are inclined and the shape of the tank may help a bit with the clunk angle.

Just thought you might want to check it.

yes we ran fuel through before all other stuff went in. it works flawlessly, being sucked out of the saddles first then the mains. thanks, nick

Hi Guys,

Im finishing up a ziroli panther also was wondering what is the best way to hinge the outboard gear doors and secure them to the main gear?

As it stands now weight is 15.4 lbs in primer with gear and its hardware installed. Is this a close weight to be at or am I aliitle
heavy?

WE JUST SECURED THE OUTBOARD DOORS TO THE STRUTS WITH 1/4 INCH PLY. WE CUT A HOLE THROUGH THE MIDDLE TO ACCOMIDATE THE STRUT, THEN CUT THE MOUNT DOWN THE MIDDLE. THE OUTBOARD SIDE OF THE MOUNT GOT GLUED TO THE DOOR AND THEN THE INBOARD DOOR IS BOLTED INTO THE OUTBOARD ONE, FOR EASE OF REMOVAL. I WILL POST PIX WHEN POSSIBLE. NICK

I got him to cut a 110% Ziroli Panther and some other parts for a 127% Ziroli Panther I've been working on for awhile.

The word I've gotten is that the P-80 is just right for a standard Ziroli Panther.

the p-80 will be MORE THAN ENOUGH by far, and this is coming from panther flyers. it has sooooo much wing on it. most people say that a 12lb turbine would do fine, now that i am a lil curious about, b.c it is pretty heavy. i want a scale flying airplane, around 130-140 is were i will fly it. a p-80 will do just that and poss more.

hey all this is the current state of my panther. Trying to get the hatch perfect, and it is dang close to BVM quality "gapness". We used bondo and did the "squeegy" method. Hoping to get it done this month, but am really busy with work. Nick

According to the folks I've talked to, for a stock sized Ziroli with a turbine, 26# - 28# fully fueled is not an unreasonable expectation, and at that weight, a P-80 is adequate, but not over powered. If your field is short and grass like ours, than a P-80 might make it tight getting it out. I've also been told that having the speed brakes is almost a requirement for short field landings as the thing just doesn't want to stop flying...

hey klenker. i know it should be about perfect combo. i am blessed with a looong paved runway. I will use some flaps on takeoff. Oh yeah i just sent my ecu in to get flashed with the new program which adds a lb of thrust....nice.

CHANGEUP, ARE YOU ASKING IF THERE ARE MANUALS FOR THE PANTHER, IF SO. I DO NOT BELIEVE THERE IS ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE SOMEWHAT CRUDE PAMPHLET THAT NICK SUPPLIES WITH HIS PLANS. HOWEVER, IT IS A SCRATCH BUILD AND IS MEANT TO BE LEFT TO THE IMAGINATION,,,,I GUESS. NICK

Ok well this is about as current as last week. Finishing off the hatch and getting it BV-Quality was hard. Also been working on the cockpit, scratch building cockpits aint fun! Its a lil dusty now, but getting paint soon. Hope to have it out at the AZ Jet rally for sure, things are looking up. Nick
