RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
Wessa, as I said 12kg MG on the Stabs is more than fine. They will not need more than 12kg of force even diving at the ground as I have tried it.
Have fun! |
RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
Ok Cool, just picked up the servos this afternoon, can some explain to me how to install the horn on the ailerons and rudder, is it as simple as cutting a slot in the right position and epoxying it in, also whilst mounting the servos in the tail for the elevators i noticed a little tiny piece of aluminium tube, whats this for, i noticed its in some of the other bags.
Sorry about all the questions guy, just want to get this right the first time, Damm i hate not having a decent manual |
RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
Yep, slot + epoxy = :D

RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
ORIGINAL: eastern FEJ do a sequencer that seems to be pretty good, I haven't use one of theirs but I have a sequencer on mine UP3 and it is excellent. Gear up doors close, doors open gear down. As for the Jet Tronic valve I dont have one on my F16 but I do on a bobcat that I just bought, I was having trouble programming it but I got the details off RCU and it works really well, Iv'e put mine on a sprung trainer switch on my FG12 so it operates the brakes simply on off its held full pressure in my airtank all day now so there are no leaks which is better than the brake system on the F16 which leaks air v quickly and has caused me real problems. If there is one thing you need working reliably on your jet its the brakes!! They come in at a fair rate of knots and take some slowing down. |
RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
Andy,
you're right about it heating up. It's pretty power-hungry. Does yours beep as well? Mine constantly produces a high-pitch whistle (softly). First I thought I had an air leak  Other than that, works great. Hans |
RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
another thing guys, the little spike that screws onto the nose of the F16 to hold the cone on, where was that in the kit, ive looked high and low and cant find it, did it actually come with the kit or was it something everyone has knocked up, also does the kit come with any fittings for the fuel system like T-Pieces etc. theres some there for the air system but i would a assume that there would have been some for the fuel as well, it just seems that i maybe missing a bag out of my kit and may need to chase it up with the supplier</p> |
RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
the nose cone retainer was in a bag with several other items, look closer you should see it and the all thread that goes with it. there are no fittings for the fuel system included.
|
RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
I got 3 bags with my kit, 1 bag with all the hardware for the rudder, 1 bag for the ailerons and 1 bag for all the air system, I also got a bag of wood formers but none of which contain the spike im after, which bag did you find the spike in

RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
i can't recall which one it was in, but i had to look twice for it IIRC.

We when do the plane, we have very much, it is a lot of drawings!!! One more example.... Look a photo Mig - 29 SMT (СМТ) These are different planes on a design.... At these planes different fuselages, wings and another..... Come on a site, and look distinctions..... http://ukr-jet.com.ua/index.php?name...&op=view&id=25 Alex |
RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
OK Jet is coming along nicely, most of the servos are in linkages are done, boy wasnt getting a Hitec 5245 in the tail a fun job took quite a few hours with a dremel and alot of trial and error to get the sucker in there but am extremely happy the way it all worked out, im almost down with the turtle deck and mounting everything on it however i got a couple of questions. the valves that come with the kit that operate the doors, gear and brakes (the ones operated by the servo) which nipple does what, im not to conserned with the brake valve as im got a jetronics electronic brake valve and wont use the one from the kit, I understand one is up and one is down and the other is pressure feed from the tank, but in what order. also can someone post any pics of how they ran the break line up the retract into the fues, just looking for the neatest and easyest way to do it. Once the air system is done its neatin up the wires and just sit and wait for some money to get the turbine then watch out. Im also sending it into a mate to get a clear coat put over it to help protect the paint as im finding it marks extremely easy, also KC36330 still didnt find the nose spike, got the dude i got the kit from chasin one up, can some one post a pic of the way they mounted this nose spike and what it needs to make sure they send everything i need Cheers Wes</p> |

But getting there ;) |
RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
Looking good there NightSwan, how long have you had your kit for, how come your tail servo is mounted in the old position.
Has anyone got any on the valves for the retracts and doors that i asked earlier |
RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
i used (and recommend) the UP3 valve for gears and doors and not the included ones, if you are going to use them the center is air in, the outers are gear down/up and doors open/close.

RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
Can someone tell me the length of the front strut for the 1/8 F-16.It is the sport strut not the scale one.I need to replace mine.
|
RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
See http://www.flyeaglejet.com/f16%20Accessories.html
From the shoulder that rests on the trunion block to CL of the axle is about 128 mm., on mine. A friend has a used one he may be willing to part with. PM me if you'd like me to put you in touch with him. Joe |

RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
Wessa,
it's a kit that I got from someone who got it from someone who... You get the idea ;) Friend of mine has a similar kit. I think the new location looks a bit better, but it was mounted this way when I got it. I'm waiting for some small parts to arrive (festo meters, fuel-tank acc. ) but I'm almost there :) Hans |
RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
Nightswan,
With a 120 in there you are going to need the centre tank. Also not sure if the standard pipe will be up to it. I have been flying mine with a Rabbit and its a great combo, however will be swapping it for a Merlin 90 as the Rabbit has a new home. Let us know how it goes with a P120! Mav |
RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
Mav,
will do ;) I've already ordered a new (bigger) pipe. Central tank is also in there. The P120 is mostly for takeoff, I don't think I will fly a lot over half / 3/4 throttle ;) The Merlin90 should be a great engine for it. Light + powerful! Hans |
RE: FLy Eagle Jet Models
I have 27 flights on my FE F16 plus now with the Rabbit, so will be curious to see how it goes with the Merlin 90. The P120 is truly mad, but I love it! More is good!
The Rabbit will be going into a FEJ Liberty, which is kind of like putting a P120 into 1/8 F16:D Keep us posted. Mav |
