axel question
I am building a Facet and have Trim Accessory main wheels that have an exact ¼” axel hole. The axels that I was going to use were the dubro ¼” axels, but that are larger than ¼”. Short of drilling the wheel bushings out is there a better solution that you can think of? I think drilling the holes out will cause slop because I will never get the exact size of the dubro axel.
Your thoughts? Thanks Scott |
RE: axel question
You need a reamer. I would chuck up the bushing in my lathe and ream them. In a pinch you could probably do it with a drill press and vice. Take them to a machine shop and ask them to do it. It shouldn't cost much.
Good luck, Chris |
RE: axel question
Scott,
Do you have a micrometer to measure the axle / bushing. Dubro lists the axle as ¼” or 6.35mm, should fit without modification? BTW, Sierra Giant makes a great set of wheels with brakes for this aircraft! Todd |
